Abstract
Open ended metal coil strung with decorative beads holds a key ring securely in place on a wearer's wrist, or a purse or stroller handle. Function and convenience of a key carrying device is combined with a fashion accessory.
Description
BACKGROUND

Key rings need to be readily accessible without carrying a bag or wearing clothing with pockets. It is popular to carry keys on a plastic or rubber bracelet. Over time the plastic or rubber bracelet may become significantly stretched and does not provide the wearer the elements of a fashion accessory. Further, as those bracelets are constructed from a single continuous, closed loop, they cannot easily secure around the handle of another object such as a purse strap, stroller handle or belt loop.

Clasped bracelets may carry key rings, however, a clasped bracelet may not be secured on or removed quickly from the wearer's wrist or other object.

The invention put forth in this application uniquely combines materials for a convenient utilitarian key carrying device with the elements of a fashion accessory.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF INVENTION

The present invention is a flexible and unclasped metal coil bracelet with an attached key ring. The bracelet is strung with decorative beads, with key ring attached at the middle of the coil such that it hangs conveniently and securely from the wrist. Because the coil is open ended it may be removed and replaced quickly on the wrist or around another object such as a purse or stroller handle. The metal coil retains its shape with repeated use.

FIG. 2 shows the coil bracelet as it is worn on the wrist.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION

A metal coil suitable for beading is used to hold a key ring, forming a bracelet that can be decorated to the wearer's liking and can be removed and replaced with ease. In one embodiment of the invention, flexible metal coil used for jewelry and crafts (commonly referred to as memory wire) is cut in 14″-15″ length to form a double helix. The coil is then decorated with small plastic, glass and or metal beads, with a small soldered jump ring or split ring threaded and placed at the center of the coil length. Beads are threaded tightly to keep jump or split ring from slipping around the coil. A key ring is attached to the jump or split ring. The ends of the coil are finished with small loops or glued end beads to secure threaded beads and ring in place.

Finished accessory is a flexible and unclasped bracelet. Because it is open at each end, yet secure when worn on the wrist, the bracelet can be removed and replaced quickly. The bracelet also can be wrapped and carried around another object such as a purse or stroller handle, or belt loop. Further, the flexible metal coil retains its shape with repeated use and always remains snug on the wearer's wrist. These are improvements on other wrist key carrying devices.

Bracelet can be used for carrying one or more keys or remote entry device on the key ring. In the preferred embodiment of the invention, the bracelet is used to carry one or two keys comfortably, and provides convenience to the wearer who wishes to keep one or two keys handy. Bracelet can be decorated with plastic, glass or metal beads, including but not limited to precious metals and stones, to wearer's specifications or may be marketed in numerous designs.
