Claims
- 1. A valve apparatus comprising:
- a tubular member having an annular wall forming a flow bore and an external area, said wall having an aperture therethrough;
- a valve with a housing having a bore therethrough;
- said housing disposed within said aperture;
- first and second closure members in said bore;
- said first closure member allowing flow from said flow bore to said external area and preventing flow from said external area to said flow bore; and
- said second closure member having a first position allowing flow into and out of said bore and a second position preventing flow out of said bore and allowing flow into said bore.
- 2. A valve apparatus comprising:
- a first tubular member having an annular wall forming a flow bore, said annular wall having an aperture therethrough;
- a second tubular member having a cylindrical bore for receiving said first tubular member:
- a valve having a housing with a bore therethrough with first and second seats adjacent each end of said bore, said housing disposed in said aperture;
- first and second spheres disposed in said bore with a biasing member disposed therebetween for biasing said first sphere against said first seat and said second sphere towards said second seat;
- said second sphere having a projection thereon projecting through said bore adjacent said second seat and extending beyond said wall and adapted for engagement with said second tubular member;
- whereby fluid may flow through said bore adjacent said first seat and then through said bore adjacent said second seat upon said projection engaging said second member and fluid being prevented from flowing through said bore upon said projection not engaging said second member allowing both spheres to be seated on said seats.
- 3. The valve apparatus of claim 2 wherein said second tubular member has a first position engaging said projection for allowing fluid flow through said bore and a second position not engaging said projection and preventing flow through said bore.
- 4. The valve apparatus of claim 2 wherein said tubular member has a recess for receiving said projection whereby said projection does not engage said second member allowing said second sphere to seat on said second seat.
- 5. The valve apparatus of claim 2 wherein said projection engages an internal surface of said second tubular member to unset said second sphere from said second seat.
- 6. The valve apparatus of claim 2 wherein said second member includes an enlarged diameter portion where said projection does not engage said second tubular member and a reduced diameter portion where said projection does engage said second tubular member.
- 7. The valve apparatus of claim 2 further including a third member received by said first tubular member for applying fluid pressure against said first sphere to unseat said first sphere from said first seat.
- 8. The valve apparatus of claim 7 wherein said third member includes a valve member for controlling the flow of fluid for placing the fluid pressure against said first sphere.
- 9. The valve apparatus of claim 2 wherein said second tubular member includes a piston member actuated upon fluid flow through said valve.
- 10. The valve apparatus of claim 9 wherein said piston member actuates a packer element mounted on said second tubular member.
- 11. The valve apparatus of claim 2 wherein said valve housing includes two mating portions for assembly of said spheres.
- 12. The valve apparatus of claim 2 wherein said biasing member includes a spring disposed between said spheres.
- 13. The valve apparatus of claim 2 wherein said first tubular member includes threads in said aperture for threadingly engaging threads on said housing.
