Claims
- 1. A coin chute assembly, comprising:
- a housing having a guide track;
- at least one blocking dog movably mounted on the housing;
- a coin slide slidably mounted in the housing guide track for movement between an outer starting position and an inner coin discharge position, and having an upper surface, at least one coin slot in vertical alignment with the blocking dog, and an abutment positioned normally in a path to engage the blocking dog, said coin slide maintaining at least one coin in a vertical position for substantially parallel movement with said coin slide until said coin reaches the inner coin discharge position;
- a baffle mounted on the housing and having a forward end, a rearward end, an upper wall and a pair of opposite side walls extending downwardly from said upper wall;
- a sizing block mounted in the forward end of the baffle and cooperating with the coin to move the blocking dog out of the path of the abutment; and
- a gate member pivotally coupled to said baffle about a horizontal axis for preventing retraction of the coin slide prior to the coin slide reaching the coin discharge position, said gate member being pivotally coupled to said side walls of said baffle substantially adjacent said sizing block and above said coin slide for movement of said gate member upwardly to permit passage of the coin thereunder and for movement of said gate member downwardly after passage of the coin thereunder to abut a peripheral edge of the coin to prevent retraction of said coin slide prior to the coin slide reaching the coin discharge position.
- 2. An anti-pry assembly adapted to be coupled to an existing coin slide, comprising:
- a baffle adapted to be coupled to an existing coin slide, and having a forward end, a rearward end, an upper wall extending between said forward and rearward ends, and a pair of opposite side walls extending from said upper wall;
- a gate member pivotally coupled to said baffle substantially adjacent said forward end of said baffle and above a linear coin path of the coin slide for pivotal movement of said gate member upwardly out of the coin path upon engaging a coin to permit passage of the coin underneath said gate member in one direction along the coin path, and for pivotal movement of said gate member downwardly back into the coin path after the coin passes underneath said gate member and prior to the coin reaching a coin discharge position to prevent passage of the coin in the opposite direction along the coin path, said gate member and said baffle being sized to be coupled to an existing coin slide.
- 3. An anti-pry assembly according to claim 2, wherein
- said baffle has a sizing block mounted between said gate member and said forward end of said baffle for cooperating with the coin.
- 4. An anti-pry assembly according to claim 2, wherein
- said upper wall of said baffle is curved downwardly towards said rearward end of said baffle.
- 5. An anti-pry assembly adapted to be coupled to an existing coin slide, comprising:
- a baffle adapted to be coupled to an existing coin slide, and having a forward end, a rearward end, an upper wall extending between said forward and rearward ends, and a pair of opposite side walls extending from said upper wall;
- a gate member pivotally coupled to said baffle substantially adjacent said forward end of said baffle and above a linear coin path of the coin slide for pivotal movement of said gate member upwardly out of the coin path upon engaging a coin to permit passage of the coin underneath said gate member in one direction along the coin path, and for pivotal movement of said gate member downwardly back into the coin path after the coin passes underneath said gate member and prior to the coin reaching a coin discharge position to prevent passage of the coin in the opposite direction along the coin path, said gate member and said baffle being sized to be coupled to an existing coin slide; and
- said baffle having a sizing block mounted between said gate member and said forward end of said baffle for cooperating with the coin, said baffle having a pair of aligned holes formed in said opposite side walls of said baffle for pivotally coupling said gate member to said baffle.
- 6. An anti-pry assembly according to claim 5, wherein
- said pair of aligned holes are located adjacent said sizing block.
- 7. An anti-pry assembly adapted to be coupled to an existing coin slide, comprising:
- a baffle adapted to be coupled to an existing coin slide, and having a forward end, a rearward end, an upper wall extending between said forward and rearward ends, and a pair of opposite side walls extending from said upper wall;
- a gate member pivotally coupled to said baffle substantially adjacent said forward end of said baffle and above a linear coin path of the coin slide for pivotal movement of said gate member upwardly out of the coin path upon engaging a coin to permit passage of the coin underneath said gate member in one direction along the coin path, and for pivotal movement of said gate member downwardly back into the coin path after the coin passes underneath said gate member and prior to the coin reaching a coin discharge position to prevent passage of the coin in the opposite direction along the coin path, said gate member and said baffle being sized to be coupled to an existing coin slide; and
- said baffle having a pair of horizontally aligned holes formed in said opposite side walls of said baffle for pivotally coupling said gate member to said baffle.
- 8. An anti-pry assembly according to claim 7, wherein
- said baffle has a sizing block mounted to its upper wall adjacent said forward end of said baffle for cooperating with the coin.
- 9. An anti-pry assembly according to claim 8, wherein
- said sizing block is removably coupled to said baffle by at least one screw.
- 10. An anti-pry assembly according to claim 9, wherein
- said upper wall and said side walls of said baffle have an inverted U-shaped cross-section adjacent said forward end of said baffle.
