Claims
- 1. A method of manufacturing a cold cathode vacuum discharge tube, the method comprising the step of coating a surface of a trigger probe ceramic by a method selected from the group consisting of carbon vapor deposition and diamond-like carbon deposition.
- 2. The method of claim 1 additionally comprising the steps of metallizing and nickel plating a ceramic header and envelope.
- 3. The method of claim 1 additionally comprising the step of Pt sputtering a graphite insert.
- 4. The method of claim 1 additionally comprising the step of brazing in a vacuum braze oven.
- 5. The method of claim 1 additionally comprising the steps of nickel plating and then Sn/Pb plating the tube.
- 6. The method of claim 1 additionally comprising the step of laser scribing the coated surface.
- 7. The method of claim 6 wherein the laser scribing step compries laser scribing in a complete circle about a trigger wire.
- 8. The method of claim 6 wherein the laser scribing step comprises laser scribing in a circle about a trigger wire, the circle comprising one or more gaps in the laser scribing therein.
