Abstract
A collapsible box for the protection of loaves of bread and other easily smashed or crushed items, more particularly for loaf of bread. A collapsible box with a plurality of sides and two bottom panels which fold into a slotted bottom and lock the box in the open position. A box which can be collapsed flat and held closed via internal attachment mechanisms such as Velcro materials, magnets or a plastic snaps or other securing mechanisms. Accordingly, an improved collapsible protective transport box apparatus which is suitable for the protection and transportation of loaved bread or other easily smashed or crushed items.
Description
TECHNICAL FIELD

The present invention relates generally to a collapsible protective transport box apparatus for the protection and transportation of easily smashed or crushed grocery items, and more particularly soft bread such as loaved bread when in transport by hand, in a shopping cart, shopping bags or other bread transporting means.


BACKGROUND OF INVENTION

Loaved bread is one of the popular types of bread purchased by consumers. Loaved bread in transport in a grocery cart, grocery bag or by hand is subject to being crushed by other hard goods and items such as milk or can goods. Paper bags, plastic bags and reusable nylon bags are not film enough to prevent loaved bread from being smashed or crushed when shopping or in transport. The collapsible protective transport box apparatus can be easily carried and deployed and locked in the open position for the transportation and protection of loaved bread and other easily crushed items while in transport.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention is directed to a collapsible protective transport box apparatus for transportation and protection of bread and other easily smashed or crushed in transport. One embodiment of the present invention can include a plurality of sides, more particularly a box with four sides with a hinged first bottom panel articulated connected with a hinged second bottom panel. a hinged second bottom panel articulated connected to a first short side. A collapsible protective transport box apparatus is locked in the open position by inserting a hinged second bottom panel into a bottom slot and attaching it via an inner attachment mechanism to a far side attachment point via a far side attachment point as a means of locking the collapsible protective transport box apparatus in the open position. A collapsible protective transport box apparatus that is held closed by internal attachment mechanisms mounted on the inner surfaces of a collapsible protective transport box apparatus.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION


FIG. 1 show a flat view of the collapsible protective transport box apparatus. A hinged first bottom panel 1 articulated connected to a hinged second bottom panel 2. A hinged second bottom panel 2 articulated connected to at its upper end to a first short side 7 of a box. A first short side 7 of a box articulated connected to a first long side 8 of a box. A first long side 8 of a box articulated connected to a second short side 9 of a box. A second short side 9 of a box articulated connected to a second long side 10 of box. A first short side attachment point 3 secured to the outer surface of a hinged first bottom panel 1. An inner attachment mechanism 4 secured to the inner surface of a hinged first bottom panel 1. A first short side attachment point 5 secured to the outer surface of a first short side 7 of a box. A far side attachment point 6 secured to the outer surface of a second short side 9 of a box. A first internal attachment mechanism 11 secured to the inner surface of a first long side 8 of a box. A second internal attachment mechanism 12 secured the inner surface of a second short side 9 of a box. A carrying strap 13 secured at one end to the upper part of a first long side 8 of a box and secured at its other end to the upper part of a second long side 10 of box.


These elements when assembled in this manner will form a rectangle or square box in which loaved breaded or other easily squashed of crushed products can be inserted and protected for transport.



FIG. 2 show a collapsed flat and closed collapsible protective transport box apparatus collapsed for portable transport. The box is held flat via a first internal attachment mechanism 11 attached to second internal attachment mechanism 12 sufficient to keep the collapsible protective transport box apparatus in the flat position. The attachment mechanism can be placed either interior or exterior to the collapsible protective transport box apparatus to secure box in the collapsed position.



FIG. 3 show an open and deployed view of a single chamber collapsible protective transport box apparatus. This view shows the labeling of each element of the collapsible protective transport box apparatus when deployed with a hinged first bottom panel 1 and a hinged second bottom panel 2 folded outward in the collapsible protective transport box apparatus unlocked and open position.



FIG. 4 shows an open and deployed view of a single chamber collapsible protective transport box apparatus with a hinged second bottom panel 2 folded into a slot formed by a first long side 8 and second long side 10 of the collapsible protective transport box apparatus. A hinged first bottom panel 1 is articulated folded parallel to a second short side 9 and is secured in the open position via an inner attachment mechanism 4 which is attached to a far side attachment point 6 to lock the collapsible protective transport box apparatus in an open position.



FIG. 5 shows a deployed view of a double chamber collapsible protective transport box apparatus with an intermediate divider panel 14 to form two chambers. The double chamber collapsible protective transport box apparatus is locked in the deployed position via a hinged second bottom panel 2 folded into a slot formed by a first long side 8 and second long side 10 of the collapsible protective transport box apparatus. A hinged first bottom panel 1 is articulated folded parallel to a second short side 9 and is secured in the open position via an inner attachment mechanisms 4A attached to a far side attachment point 6A and an inner attachment mechanisms 4B attached to a far side attachment point 6B to lock the double chamber collapsible protective transport box apparatus in an open position. The collapsible protective transport box is held in the collapsed position via a first internal attachment mechanism 11 attached to a second internal attachment mechanism 12 and a third internal attachment mechanism 15 attached to a fourth internal attachment mechanism 16. FIG. 5 also show a Carrying strap 13.


In the description outer surface refer to the external surface of the collapsible protective transport box apparatus and the inner surface refer to the internal surface of the collapsible protective transport box apparatus. Like reference numbers are used to identify like elements. Furthermore, the drawings are intended to illustrate major features of exemplary embodiments in a diagrammatic manner. The drawings are not intended to depict every feature of every implementation nor relative dimensions of the depicted elements, and are not drawn to scale. For example, A hinged first bottom panel 1 and a hinged second bottom panel 2 can also be folded internal to the Protective Transport box apparatus and secured closed via an internal a first short side 5 attachment point when box is collapsed. A hinged second bottom panel 2 can be secured internal to the box to a second short side 9 of a box via an internal a far side attachment point 6 allowing a hinged first bottom panel 1 and a hinged second bottom panel 2 to deploy internal to the Protective Transport box apparatus to be locked in deployed position.


The collapsed Protective Transport box apparatus can be manufactured using cardboard, wood, silicone, plastics or other types materials.


The collapsible protective transport box apparatus design can be implemented to make a collapsible box with one, two, three, four or more chambers for transporting bread or other easily squashed or crushed items.


While certain details of construction have been disclosed herein, no doubt various changes in the structure would suggest themselves to one skilled in the art who peruses this specification. Accordingly, the invention is not to be limited to the precise details disclosed herein.

Claims
  • 1. A hinged first bottom panel articulated connected to a hinged second bottom panel. A hinged second bottom panel articulated connected at its upper end to a first short side of a collapsible protective transport box apparatus. A first short side of a collapsible protective transport box apparatus articulated connected to a first long side of a collapsible protective transport box apparatus. A first long side of a collapsible protective transport box apparatus articulated connected to a second short side of a collapsible protective transport box apparatus. A second short side of a collapsible protective transport box apparatus articulated connected to a second long side of collapsible protective transport box apparatus. A first short side attachment point secured to the outer surface of a hinged first bottom panel. An inner attachment mechanism secured to the inner surface of a hinged first bottom panel. A first short side attachment point secured to the outer surface of a first short side of a collapsible protective transport box apparatus. A far side attachment point secured to the outer surface of a second short side of a collapsible protective transport box apparatus. A first internal attachment mechanism secured to the inner surface of a first long side of a collapsible protective transport box apparatus. A second internal attachment mechanism secured the inner surface of a second short side of a collapsible protective transport box apparatus. A carrying strap secured at one end to the upper part of a first long side of a collapsible protective transport box apparatus and secured at its other end to the upper part of a second long side of collapsible protective transport box apparatus.
