The disclosure and prior art relates to seating arrangements and more particularly pertains to a new seating arrangement for providing portable seating and shade.
An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a stool comprising a pair of stool legs comprising a first and a second stool leg. Each of the pair of stool legs is a squared U-shape comprising a pair of arms and a medial portion between the pair of arms. A pair of stool axles is coupled to the pair of stool legs. The pair of stool axles pivotably join the pair of arms of the first stool leg to the pair of arms of the second stool leg in a crossed position. A stool sling is coupled to the pair of stool legs. The stool sling is coupled around, and extends between, the medial portion of each of the first and the second stool leg. The stool sling is foldable and limits the range of motion of the pair of stool legs between an expanded position with the stool sling taut and an alternative folded position with the medial portion of the first stool leg adjacent the medial portion of the second stool leg. A shade cover comprises a pair of horizontal supports comprising a front support and a back support. Each of the pair of supports comprises a first half and a second half. A pair of support hinges is coupled to the pair of supports. Each of the pair of support hinges is coupled between the first half and the second half of the pair of supports. A cover sling is coupled to the pair of horizontal supports. The cover sling is coupled around, and extends between, the front support and the back support. The cover sling has a front cutout and a back cutout exposing the pair of support hinges. A set of leg hinges is coupled to a distal end of the first half and the second half of each of the pair of supports. A set of cover legs is coupled to the set of leg hinges. The shade cover moves between an erect position with the first and second half of each of the pair of supports being colinear. The set of cover legs is perpendicular with the pair of supports and an alternate collapsed position with the set of cover legs forming an M-shape with each of the pair of supports.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
As best illustrated in
A shade cover 34 comprises a pair of horizontal supports 36. The pair of supports 36 comprises a front support 38 and a back support 40. Each of the pair of supports 36 comprises a first half 42 and a second half 44. A pair of support hinges 46 is coupled between the first half 42 and the second half 44 of the pair of supports 36. Each of the support hinges 46 comprises a first hinge portion 48 fixedly coupled to the first half 42, a second hinge portion 50 fixedly coupled to the second half 44, and an obround medial hinge portion 52 pivotably coupled to each of the first hinge portion 48 and the second hinge portion 50. The support hinges 46 allow the first half 42 and the second half 44 to fold without interfering. A cover sling 54 is coupled to the pair of horizontal supports 36. The cover sling 54 is coupled around, and extends between, the front support 38 and the back support 40. The cover sling 54 has a front cutout 56 and a back cutout 58 exposing the pair of support hinges 46. The front cutout 56 and the back cutout 58 allow the support hinges 46 to bend.
A set of leg hinges 60 is coupled to the pair of supports 36. Each of the set of leg hinges 60 has a rounded end 62 pivotably coupled to a distal end 64 of the first half 42 and the second half 44 of each of the pair of supports 36 and a flat end 66. A set of cover legs 68 is coupled to the set of leg hinges 60. Each of the set of cover legs 68 has a lower portion 70 and an upper portion 72. The flat end 66 of each leg hinge 60 is fixedly coupled to the upper portion 72 of the respective cover leg 68 such that the leg hinge 60 extends perpendicularly from the cover leg 68. The lower portion 70 is telescopable within the upper portion 72 and has a spring-loaded button 74 selectively engageable with a plurality of adjustment apertures 76 extending through the upper portion 72. A set of cover feet 78 is coupled to the set of cover legs 68. Each of the set of stool feet 24 and each of the set of cover feet 78 may be a truncated conical shape and may be rubberized for improved grip. The shade cover 34 moves between an erect position 80 with the first 42 and second half 44 of each of the pair of supports 36 being colinear and the set of cover legs 68 perpendicular with the pair of supports 36 and an alternate collapsed position 82 with the set of cover legs 68 forming an M-shape with each of the pair of supports 36.
In use, the pair of stool legs 14 is moved to the expanded position 30 allowing the user to sit on the stool sling 28. The shade cover 34 is placed in the erect position 80 above the stool 12 and each of the set of cover legs 68 is adjusted to a desired height to provide a shaded working area for the user.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
