Claims
- 1. A method for generating colonography images of a patient's unprepared colon for colorectal screening, comprising:
prescribing the administration of at least about 10 grams of stool marker in doses to the patient over at least a 48 hour administration period; and with the patient free from administration of laxatives or cathartics for at least 24 hours, imaging the patient's colon after the administration period.
- 2. The method of claim 1 wherein prescribing the administration of stool marker includes prescribing the administration of at least 1 dose of stool marker less than about 2 hours before imaging the colon.
- 3. The method of claim 1 wherein prescribing the administration of doses of stool marker includes prescribing the administration of at least 2 doses of stool marker less than about 6 hours before imaging the colon.
- 4. The method of claim 1 and further including displaying the images.
- 5. The method of claim 1 wherein prescribing the administration of stool marker includes prescribing the administration of a pill including stool marker.
- 6. The method of claim 1 wherein prescribing the administration of doses of barium stool marker includes prescribing the administration of doses of barium sulfate suspension including between about 0.8% and 1.5% barium.
- 7. A method for generating colonography images of a patient's unprepared colon for colorectal screening, comprising:
prescribing the administration of doses of stool marker to the patient over at least a 24 hour administration period, including at least 3 doses of stool marker less than about 7 hours before the end of the administration period; and with the patient free from administration of laxatives or cathartics for at least 24 hours, imaging the patient's colon after the administration period.
- 8. The method of claim 7 wherein prescribing the administration of at least 3 doses of stool marker less than about 7 hours before the end of the administration period includes prescribing the administration of at least 2 doses of stool marker less than about 2 hours before the end of the administration period.
- 9. The method of claim 8 wherein prescribing the administration of stool marker includes prescribing the administration of barium stool marker.
- 10. The method of claim 9 wherein prescribing the administration of doses of barium stool marker includes prescribing the administration of doses of barium sulfate suspension including between about 0.8% and 1.5% barium.
- 11. The method of claim 10 wherein prescribing the administration of doses of barium stool marker includes prescribing the administration of pills including barium stool marker.
- 12. The method of claim 7 and further including displaying the images.
- 13. A method for generating colonography images of a patient's unprepared colon for colorectal screening, comprising:
prescribing the administration of doses of barium sulfate suspension stool marker to the patient over at least a 48 hour administration period, including at least 2 doses of stool marker less than about 6 hours before the end of the administration period, each dose including between about 0.8% and 1.5% barium sulfate; and with the patient free from administration of laxatives or cathartics for at least 24 hours, imaging the patient's colon after the administration period.
- 14. The method of claim 13 wherein prescribing the administration of doses of barium stool marker includes prescribing the administration of pills including the barium stool marker.
- 15. The method of claim 13 and further including displaying the images.
