Claims
- 1. A color cathode ray tube equipped with an in-line electron gun comprising three cathodes for emitting three electron beams of an in-line arrangement toward a fluorescent screen, and a main lens for focusing said three electron beams on the fluorescent screen, said main lens comprising a first main lens electrode and a second main lens electrode arranged in a spaced relationship in a direction of an axis of said tube and having different voltages applied thereto, each of said first and second main lens electrodes having a single opening common to said three electron beams at opposing ends thereof, and at least one of said first main lens electrode and said second main lens electrode having therein three apertures for electron beam passage which are set back from said opposing ends, wherein T and S have values in a region where the following inequalities are satisfied,
- 2. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 1, wherein at least one of said first and second main lens electrodes is a cylindrical electrode having an inner electrode therein.
- 3. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 2, wherein said inner electrode is a plate electrode.
- 4. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 2, wherein said inner electrode has at least an aperture for the center electron beam.
- 5. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 4, wherein said aperture has a smaller dimension in a direction of said in-line arrangement than a dimension perpendicular to the direction of said in-line arrangement.
- 6. A color cathode ray tube equipped with an in-line electron gun comprising three cathodes for emitting three electron beams of an in-line arrangement toward a fluorescent screen, and a main lens for focusing said three electron beams on the fluorescent screen, said main lens comprising a first main lens electrode and a second main lens electrode arranged in a spaced relationship in a direction of an axis of said tube and having different voltages applied thereto, each of said first and second main lens electrodes having a single opening common to said three electron beams at opposing ends thereof, and at least one of said first main lens electrode and said second main lens electrode having therein three apertures for electron beam passage which are set back from said opposing ends, wherein T and S have values in a region where the following inequalities are satisfied,
- 7. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 6, wherein at least one of said first and second main lens electrodes is a cylindrical electrode having an inner electrode therein.
- 8. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 7, wherein said inner electrode is a plate electrode.
- 9. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 7, wherein said inner electrode has at least an aperture for the center electron beam.
- 10. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 9, wherein said aperture has a smaller dimension in a direction of said in-line arrangement than a dimension perpendicular to the direction of said in-line arrangement.
- 11. A color cathode ray tube equipped with an in-line electron gun comprising three cathodes for emitting three electron beams of an in-line arrangement toward a fluorescent screen, and a main lens for focusing said three electron beams on the fluorescent screen, said main lens comprising a first main lens electrode and a second main lens electrode arranged in a spaced relationship in a direction of an axis of said tube and having different voltages applied thereto, each of said first and second main lens electrodes having a single opening common to said three electron beams at opposing ends thereof, and at least one of said first main lens electrode and said second main lens electrode having therein three apertures for electron beam passage which are set back from said opposing ends, wherein T and S have values in a region where the following inequalities are satisfied,
- 12. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 11, wherein at least one of said first and second main lens electrodes is a cylindrical electrode having an inner electrode therein.
- 13. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 12, wherein said inner electrode is a plate electrode.
- 14. A color cathode ray tube according to claim 12, wherein said inner electrode has at least an aperture for the center electron beam.
