Claims
- 1. A color changing ball comprising:
a stretchable ball skin of a first color, a deformable non-liquid ball core of a second color, said first color and said second color being visibly different colors, said ball skin being colored to the point of near-opacity, said ball skin and said ball core having sufficient different physical properties so that they have a different feel from each other when squeezed by a human hand, said ball skin being stretchable to a point of translucence when the ball is squeezed and ball core is forced against ball skin by the squeezing action, and when said ball skin is stretched to a point of translucence, color of the ball in the area of said stretched skin experiences a changed based on increased dominance of said second color.
- 2. A ball as recited in claim 1 wherein said ball core is made from the same general type of material as said ball skin, and said ball core material is discrete chunks of said material.
- 3. A ball as recited in claim 1 wherein said ball skin is made from an elastomer gel and said ball core is made from a material other than an elastomer gel.
- 4. A ball as recited in claim 1 wherein both said ball skin and said ball core are made from an elastomer gel, and said ball core elastomer gel includes more than a trivial quantity of resin.
- 5. A ball as recited in claim 1 wherein both said ball skin is made from an elastomer gel, and said ball core comprises a hydrated water soluble polymer.
- 6. A ball as recited in claim 1 wherein said ball skin is made from an elastomer gel and said elastomer gel includes:
an elastomer, and a plasticizer.
- 7. A ball as recited in claim 6 wherein said elastomer is an A-B-A triblock copolymer.
- 8. A ball as recited in claim 7 wherein said A-B-A triblock copolymer is selected from the group consisting of SEPS, SEBS and SEEPS.
- 9. A ball as recited in claim 7 wherein said plasticizer is an oil.
- 10. A ball as recited in claim 1 wherein said ball skin includes
an elastomer, said elastomer being an A-B-A triblock copolymer, said A-B-A triblock copolymer being selected from the group consisting of SEPS, SEBS and SEEPS, and a plasticizer, said plasticizer being selected from the group consisting of resin, rosin, oil and combinations thereof.
- 11. A ball as recited in claim 10 wherein said ball core comprises a hydrated water soluble polymer.
- 12. A ball as recited in claim 10 wherein said ball core includes a resin.
- 13. A ball as recited in claim 1 wherein said ball core includes
an elastomer, said elastomer being an A-B-A triblock copolymer, said A-B-A triblock copolymer being selected from the group consisting of SEPS, SEBS and SEEPS, and a plasticizer, said plasticizer being selected from the group consisting of resin, rosin, oil and combinations thereof.
- 14. A color changing ball comprising:
a stretchable ball skin of a first color, said ball skin including an elastomer, said elastomer being an A-B-A triblock copolymer, said A-B-A triblock copolymer being selected from the group consisting of SEPS, SEBS and SEEPS, and a plasticizer, said plasticizer being selected from the group consisting of resin, rosin, oil and combinations thereof, a deformable ball non-liquid core of a second color, said first color and said second color being visibly different colors, said ball skin being colored to the point of near-opacity, said ball skin and said ball core having sufficient different physical properties so that they have a different feel from each other when squeezed by a human hand, said ball skin being stretchable to a point of translucence when the ball is squeezed and ball core is forced against ball skin by the squeezing action, and when said ball skin is stretched to a point of translucence, color of the ball in the area of said stretched skin experiences a changed based on increased dominance of said second color.
- 15. A ball as recited in claim 14 wherein said ball core is made from the same general type of material as said ball skin, and said ball core material is discrete chunks of said material.
- 16. A ball as recited in claim 14 wherein said ball core includes more than a trivial quantity of resin.
- 17. A ball as recited in claim 14 wherein said ball core comprises a hydrated water soluble polymer.
- 18. A color changing ball comprising:
a stretchable ball skin of a first color, and a deformable non-liquid ball core of a second color, said first color and said second color being visibly different colors, said ball skin being colored to the point of near-opacity, said ball skin being stretchable to a point of translucence when the ball is squeezed and ball core is forced against ball skin by the squeezing action, and when said ball skin is stretched to a point of translucence, color of the ball in the area of said stretched skin experiences a change based on increased dominance of said second color.
