The disclosure relates to packing box devices and more particularly pertains to a new packing box device for convenient and efficient moving. The present device includes a plurality of foldable flaps to allow for flat folding as well as easy assembly. There is a pair of closure tabs which eliminate the necessity for tape. Each device is colored to allow for easy organization during moves.
The prior art relates to packing box devices. Known devices utilize folding boxes that require tape to remain sealed. These devices also typically employ a write in box or receive stickers for organization during moves.
An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a set of sidewalls including a front sidewall, a back sidewall, a left sidewall, and a right sidewall. Each sidewall of the set of sidewalls has a sidewall top edge and a sidewall bottom edge. The set of sidewalls forms a rectangular prismatic box inside. The sidewall top edge has a top slit extending into the front sidewall. The sidewall bottom edge has a bottom slit extending into the back sidewall. A top wall is coupled to the set of sidewalls. The top wall has a top wall proximal edge foldably coupled to the sidewall top edge along the back sidewall. A top tab is coupled to the top wall. The top tab is foldably coupled to a top wall distal edge of the top wall. The top tab is selectively engageable within the top slit to secure the top wall against the sidewall top edge covering the box inside. A bottom wall is coupled to the set of sidewalls. The bottom wall has a bottom wall proximal edge foldably coupled to the sidewall bottom edge along the front sidewall. A bottom tab is coupled to the bottom wall. The bottom tab is foldably coupled to a bottom wall distal edge of the bottom wall. The bottom tab is selectively engageable within the bottom slit to secure the bottom wall against the sidewall bottom edge covering the box inside. Each of the sidewalls, the top wall, and the bottom wall are a solid color for visual organization when a plurality of color coded packing box apparatuses are in use.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
As best illustrated in
A top wall 40 is coupled to the set of sidewalls 12. The top wall 40 has a top wall proximal edge 42 foldably coupled to the sidewall top edge 22 along the back sidewall 16. A pair of top lateral flaps 44 may be coupled to the top wall 40. The pair of top lateral flaps 44 is foldably coupled to a pair of top lateral edges 46 of the top wall 40. A top tab 48 may be coupled to the top wall 40. The top tab 48 is foldably coupled to a top wall distal edge 50 of the top wall. The top tab 48 is selectively engageable within the top slit 32 to secure the top wall 40 against the sidewall top edge 22 to cover the box inside 26. The pair of top lateral flaps 44 help secure the top wall 40 in place and seal the box inside 26. The pair of top lateral flaps 44 may extend half way down the left sidewall 18 and the right sidewall 20.
A bottom wall 52 is coupled to the set of sidewalls 12. The bottom wall 52 has a bottom wall proximal edge 54 foldably coupled to the sidewall bottom edge 24 along the front sidewall 14. A pair of bottom lateral flaps 56 is coupled to the bottom wall 52. The pair of bottom lateral flaps 56 is foldably coupled to a pair of bottom lateral edges 58 of the bottom wall. The pair of bottom lateral flaps 56 help secure the bottom wall 52 in place and seal the box inside 26. The pair of bottom lateral flaps 56 may extend half way down the left sidewall 18 and the right sidewall 20 to meet the pair of top lateral flaps 44.
A bottom tab 60 is coupled to the bottom wall 52. The bottom tab 60 is foldably coupled to a bottom wall distal edge 62 of the bottom wall. The bottom tab 60 is selectively engageable within the bottom slit 36 to secure the bottom wall 52 against the sidewall bottom edge 24 to cover the box inside 26. Each of the top tab 48 and the bottom tab 60 may be trapezoidal with rounded corners to more easily enter the respective top slit 32 and bottom slit 36.
An inner flap 64 may be coupled to the set of sidewalls 12. The inner flap is foldably coupled to the sidewall bottom edge 24 along the back sidewall 16. After the bottom wall 52 is folded into place with the bottom tab 60 engaging the bottom slit 36, the inner flap 64 is folded down for reinforcement. The inner flap 64 conforms to the shape of the set of sidewalls 12 to rest against the sidewall bottom edge 24.
Each of the sidewalls 12, the top wall 40, and the bottom wall 52 are a solid color for visual organization when a plurality of color coded packing box apparatuses 10 are in use. In use, the color coded packing box apparatus 10 allows for a method of use 70 comprising a step 72 comprising having a plurality of items to be moved 66. A step 74 comprises having the color coded packing box apparatus 10. A step 76 comprises packing the plurality of items to be moved 66 within the plurality of color coded packing box apparatuses 10 with each item 66 destined for the same room within the moving destination being placed within color coded packing box apparatuses 10 of the same color. A step 78 comprises moving the plurality of color coded packing box apparatuses 10 to the moving destination. A step 80 comprises distributing the plurality of color coded packing box apparatuses 10 to different rooms within the moving destination based on color.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
