Claims
- 1. A color recording device for performing a color recording method, wherein said color recording device comprises at least one ink ribbon, and further comprises:
- a first recording part including a first thermal head for directly applying energy to a direct heat sensitive paper comprising a base coated with at least one leuco dye and at least one color developer such that a first color may be developed on a predetermined first portion of the heat sensitive paper through a color developing reaction between the leuco dye and the color developer;
- a second recording part including a second thermal head for applying heat energy to said at least one ink ribbon, wherein said at least one ink ribbon comprises a desensitizing material and at least one ink such that a second predetermined second portion of the heat sensitive paper may be developed by transferring the ink and desensitizing material onto the second predetermined portion of the direct heat sensitive paper, the desensitizing material being present in an amount effective to prevent any substantial color developing reaction at said second portion of said heat sensitive paper; and
- means for transferring the direct heat sensitive paper from the first recording part to the second recording part.
- 2. A color recording device for performing a color recording method, wherein said color recording device comprises at least one ink ribbon, and further comprises:
- at least one thermal head suitable for supplying thermal energy directly to a direct heat sensitive paper comprising a base coated with at least one leuco dye and at least one color developer such that a first color may be developed on a predetermined first portion of the heat sensitive paper through a color developing reaction between the leuco dye and the color developer, and said at least one thermal head also suitable for supplying thermal energy directly to said at least one ink ribbon, wherein said at least one ink ribbon comprises a desensitizing material and at least one ink such that a second color on a predetermined second portion of the heat sensitive paper may be developed by transferring the ink and desensitizing material onto the second predetermined portion of the direct heat sensitive paper, the desensitizing material being present in an amount effective to prevent any substantial color developing reaction at said second portion of said heat sensitive paper.
- 3. The color recording device according to claim 2 further comprising:
- means for moving the direct heat sensitive paper in a first direction; and
- a plurality of ink ribbons which are arranged parallel to each other and perpendicular to the first direction and means for moving said ink ribbons are in the first direction;
- and wherein said at least one thermal head is effective for scanning said direct sensitive paper and is disposed relative to said heat sensitive paper and said ink ribbons such that heat energy may be supplied directly to the heat sensitive paper and alternatively, when the ink ribbon is moved so as to be between said thermal head and said heat sensitive paper, heat energy may be applied to at least one of said ink ribbons so as to transfer ink from said ink ribbons to said heat sensitive paper.
- 4. The color recording device according to claim 2 wherein said at least one thermal head comprises a plurality of thermal heads arranged in line parallel to the ink ribbons.
