Claims
- 1. A coloring layer composition for a chromatic device comprising an oxide and peroxide of at least one of W, Nb, Mo and V as a solute dissolved in water and an organic solvent selected from the group consisting of an alkoxy alkanol and a dialkyl amide compatible with water, said solvent being vaporable by heat treatment and capable of inhibiting the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide and retarding the release of dissolved oxygen from the composition, and said composition being in the form of a solution.
- 2. A coloring layer composition for a chromatic device according to claim 1, wherein said solute is a peroxotungstate represented by WO.sub.3.aNb.sub.2 O.sub.5.bH.sub.2 O.sub.2.cH.sub.2 O wherein a, b and c are each a positive number.
- 3. A coloring layer composition for a chromatic device according to claim 1, wherein the concentration of said solute is 50% by weight or less based on the weight of the total composition.
- 4. A coloring layer composition for a chromatic device according to claim 1, wherein the concentration of said solute is 20 to 30% by weight based on the weight of the total composition.
- 5. A coloring layer composition for a chromatic device as defined in claim 1 wherein said solute is selected from the group consisting of peroxotungstate, peroxoniobate, peroxomolybdate and peroxovanadate.
- 6. A coloring layer composition for a chromatic device according to claim 1, wherein said solute is a peroxotungstate, represented by WO.sub.3. a Nb.sub.2 O.sub.5. b H.sub.2 O.sub.2. c H.sub.2 O wherein a and c are zero or a positive number and b is a positive number.
- 7. A coloring layer composition for a chromatic device according to claim 1, wherein said solvent is an alkoxy alkanol.
- 8. A coloring layer composition for a chromatic device according to claim 7, wherein the alkoxy alkanol is 2-ethoxyethanol.
- 9. A coloring layer composition for a chromatic device according to claim 1, wherein said solvent is a dialkyl amide.
- 10. A chromatic layer composition for a chromatic device according to claim 9, wherein the dialkyl amide is dimethyl formamide.
