Claims
- 1. A combination shipping and storage container comprising:
- (a) a removable and reusable outer paperboard shell having at least an open bottom;
- (b) an inner paperboard container, positioned within said outer shell, said inner container having at least one product receiving cell;
- (c) a removing means, associated with said combination container, for removing said outer shell by lifting said outer shell upwardly from said inner container, said inner container being used to contain products for storage purposes and said outer shell being reusable;
- (d) said outer shell being constructed of a heavier material than said inner container to provide stacking strength;
- (e) further said outer shell being constructed for engaging an outer wall of said inner container to prevent bulging from the products in the product receiving cell; and
- (f) said outer shell and said inner container being constructed so that any frictional holding forces between the walls thereof are less than the combined weight of said inner container and the products in said product receiving cell to permit said outer shell to be lifted from said inner container.
- 2. The combination container as defined in claim 1 wherein said outer shell is formed from at least two liners in juxtaposition.
- 3. The combination container as defined in claim 1 wherein said outer shell is formed from at least three liners in juxtaposition.
- 4. The combination container as defined in claim 1 wherein said inner container is formed with at least two cells for receiving products.
- 5. The combination container as defined in claim 1 wherein said inner container is formed with at least three cells for receiving products.
- 6. The combination container as defined in claim 1 further comprising at least a bottom cap being positioned on said outer shell.
- 7. The combination container as defined in claim 1 further comprising the outer shell having positioned thereon a bottom cap and a top cap.
- 8. The combination container as defined in claim 4 wherein said cells are rigidly fastened together.
- 9. The combination container as defined in claim 5 wherein said cells are rigidly fastened together.
- 10. The combination container as defined in claim 4 wherein said cells are laminated together.
- 11. The combination container as defined in claim 5 wherein said cells are laminated together.
- 12. The combination container as defined in claim 1 wherein said removing means comprises in part a portion of said outer shell being utilized for lifting said outer shell from said inner container.
