Claims
- 1. The method of delivering quantities of product measured by weight with each quantity being of an acceptable weight relative to a reference weight, utilizing a set of balances each adapted to weigh a fraction of said quantity and each adapted for unloading of product therefrom to contribute to a delivery, said method comprising for each delivery the steps of:

- means for unloading the balances of the selected combination for said delivery;
- means for loading the balances which were unloaded; and
- means for initiating operation of said generating and comparing means to derive, for each delivery, the values of the combinations of weights on the participating balances before completion of weighing out new loads on the balances which were unloaded on the preceding delivery.
- 7. Apparatus as set forth in claim 6 wherein said means for initiating operation of said generating and comparing means is operable upon the termination of the unloading of balances for the preceding delivery.
- 8. Apparatus as set forth in claim 7 wherein said means for initiating operation of said generating and comparing means is operable upon the termination of the unloading of balances for the preceding delivery and at the start of the loading of those balances.
- 9. Apparatus for delivering quantities of product measured by weight, with each quantity being of an acceptable weight relative to a reference weight, comprising:
- a set of balances each adapted to weigh a fraction of said quantity and each adapted for unloading of product therefrom to contribute to a delivery;
- means for generating the values of combinations of weights on the balances excluding those balances unloaded on the preceding delivery and comparing the values with an acceptable weight standard to select a combination of the balances participating in the generation of values to be unloaded to deliver said acceptable weight quantity;
- means for unloading the balances of the selected combination for said delivery;
- means for loading the balances which were unloaded; and
- means for initiating operation of said generating and comparing means to derive, for each delivery, the values of the combinations of weights on the participating balances before the balances which were unloaded on the preceding delivery are re-loaded and reach stabilization, and to effect comparison of said values with said standard upon the termination of the unloading of the balances for the previous delivery and in advance of the stabilization of those balances as they are loaded by the balance loading means.
- 10. Apparatus as set forth in claim 9 wherein said means for initiating operation of said generating and comparing means is operable at the start of loading of the balances.
- 11. The method of delivering quantities of product measured by weight with each quantity being of an acceptable weight relative to a reference weight, utilizing a set of balances each adapted to weigh a fraction of said quantity and each adapted for unloading of product therefrom to contribute to a delivery, said method comprising for each successive delivery a cycle of steps comprising:
- generating the values of combinations of weights on those balances which were not unloaded on the preceding delivery and comparing the values with an acceptable weight standard to select from those balances a combination of balances which are to be unloaded to deliver said acceptable weight quantity,
- unloading the balances of said selected combination for said delivery, and
- loading the balances which were unloaded to prepare for the next delivery,
- wherein each successive cycle is initiated before the termination of the preceding cycle.
- 12. The method of claim 11 wherein a cycle is initiated before the balances which were unloaded and then reloaded on the preceding cycle reach stabilization.
- 13. Apparatus for delivering quantities of product measured by weight with each quantity being of an acceptable weight relative to a reference weight comprising:
