Abstract
A combinative drawer comprising a front plate, two lateral plates, a bottom plate, a rear plate and two slide pieces, wherein the lateral plates each is provided on the external surface thereof with a transverse groove; the abovementioned plates compose the drawer, the two slide pieces are fixed on two mutual opposite lateral surfaces of a cabinet or a desk providing the space for the drawer; thereby, the transverse grooves provided on the external surfaces of the two lateral plates of the drawer can afford sliding of the two slide pieces therein.
Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] The present invention is related to a combinative drawer, and especially to a drawer structure convenient for assembling in pursuance of the requirement of a user and suitable for application as the structure of a cabinet, desk or the like for placing articles or files.

[0003] 2. Description of the Prior Art

[0004] Generally, desks are things used most often, they are used in offices, for reading or in leisure times; desks provide drawers for receiving articles, and they are quite practicable. For earlier drawers, no matter of what material they are made, they are mainly placed in the spaces provided in desks each with two flanges respectively on the lateral sides of the corresponding space, so that the drawers are supported each by two flanges and can slide thereon; alternatively, the flanges are provided with rollers to make more easier sliding of the drawers thereon.

[0005] However, whichever the modes of moving are, the drawers are fixed in shape when they are made, such as is shown in FIG. 1, and their shapes are unchangeable; they can not be dismantled and combined again in pursuance of the requirement of users. The users must use them in the shapes as they are; otherwise, they can only change for a new cabinet or a new desk etc. as a whole, and thereby are not so desired.

[0006] And more, in the design of a conventional drawer, their lateral plates are mostly made of wood, in addition to that they are heavier, mostly there are convexes and concaves alternately arranged and provided on the front plate and the two lateral plates for mutual engagement, the strength of them is evidently insufficient. When the conventional drawer is used as a filing cabinet, the lateral plates of it must be provided with raised plastic slide rails to make smoother sliding in tidying files. Thereby, additional materials shall be provided, and more processes are required in assembling, the cost of production is accordingly increased.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0007] The primary object of the present invention is to provide a combinative drawer with low cost, being fast assemblable and having good combining strength, able to be assembled and have its shape changed in pursuance of the requirement of a user.

[0008] To get the above stated object, the present invention comprises: a front plate with at least a recess on each lateral edge of the inner side thereof and with a transverse groove on the bottom edge thereof; two lateral plates having on the bottom edges of the inner sides thereof transverse grooves and having on the rear edges thereof longitudinal grooves, each lateral plate being provided on the external surface thereof with a transverse groove and being provided on the front end thereof with a protrusion able to engage with the recess on the corresponding lateral edge of the front plate, the front end of the lateral plate being provided on the inner side thereof with at least a locking portion to help connecting of the two lateral plates with the front plate; a bottom plate of which the periphery can be embedded in the transverse grooves on the bottom edges respectively of the two lateral plates and the front plate to make connection of the bottom plate with the two lateral plates and the front plate; a rear plate connectable with the front plate, the two lateral plates and the bottom plate for composing the drawer; and two slide pieces with their widths in coincidence with the sizes of the transverse grooves provided on the external surfaces of the two lateral plates. The two slide pieces are respectively fixed on the two lateral sides of the space provided in a cabinet or a desk to make the transverse grooves provided on the external surfaces of the two lateral plates of the drawer afford sliding of the two slide pieces.

[0009] The present invention will be apparent in its features and structure after reading the detailed description of the preferred embodiment thereof in reference to the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0017] Referring firstly to FIG. 2, the present invention is a combinative drawer comprising:

[0018] a front plate 10 with two recesses 11 on the two lateral edges of the inner side thereof, with a transverse groove 12 on the bottom edge thereof, and with screw holes 13 at suitable positions in the central area thereof to fixedly connect a handle;

[0019] two lateral plates 20 each being provided near the bottom edge on the inner surface thereof with a transverse groove 23, the lateral plates 20 being provided on the rear edges thereof with longitudinal grooves 24 having thereon a plurality of screw holes 241, each lateral plate 20 being provided on the external surface thereof with a transverse groove 25 and being provided on the front end thereof with protrusions 21 able to engage with the recesses 11 on the corresponding lateral edge of the front plate 10, the front end of the lateral plate 20 being provided on the inner side thereof with at least a locking portion 22 to help connecting of the two lateral plates 20 with the front plate 10;

[0020] a bottom plate 30 of which the periphery can be embedded in the transverse grooves 23, 12 on the bottom edges respectively of the two lateral plates 20 and the front plate 10 to make connection of the bottom plate 30 with the two lateral plates 20 and the front plate 10;

[0021] a rear plate 40 connectable with the front plate 10, the two lateral plates 20 and the bottom plate 30 for composing the drawer as is shown in FIG. 3.

[0022] Referring simultaneously to FIGS. 4 and 5, when in use, two slide pieces 50 attached to the above assembled drawer are respectively fixed on two lateral plates 60 providing the space for the drawer; the two slide pieces 50 have their widths in coincidence with the sizes of the transverse grooves 25 provided on the external surfaces of the two lateral plates 20, and is provided on the bottom edges of the rear end thereof each with a protrusion 51 and a plurality of screw holes 52 to screw connect with the two mutually opposite lateral plates 60 providing the space for the drawer. Thereby, the transverse grooves 25 provided on the external surfaces of the two lateral plates 20 of the drawer can allow sliding of the two slide pieces 50 therein.

[0023] As shown in FIG. 6 depicting the second embodiment of the present invention, in which two slide rails 70, 72 with pulleys 71, 73 respectively are connected into the transverse grooves 25 provided on the external surfaces of the two lateral plates 20 of the drawer and two mutually opposite lateral plates 60 providing the space for the drawer to make smoother sliding of the drawer.

[0024] Referring to FIGS. 2, 7, when in practicing, the two lateral plates 20 can be plain plastic plates with a plurality of reinforcing ribs and vertical strips; this can not only save material and reduce weight, but also can provide sufficient strength for the plates. In addition to this, the plates can also be integrally formed thereon protruding slide rails 26 for the convenience of changing usage such as the usage as a filing cabinet; it needs only to slightly change the positions of the recesses 11 on the lateral edges of the front plate 10 to upper locations, then to make connection of the two lateral plates 20 with the front plate 10 and to allow screw locking at the locking portions 22; the bottom area is left an empty space, the rear plate 40 is connected to rear ends of the two lateral plates 20 to make the drawer a framing body, in this form, the drawer can be used as a filing drawer for placing therein elongate file wrappers 80.

[0025] In summary, the present invention relates to designing of a drawer convenient for assembling and changing in pursuance of the requirement of users, it has never been published or used publicly, and the function of it is evident. Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to be secured by Letters Patent of the United States are:
