Claims
- 1. A gemstone arrangement comprising a pair of individual pear shaped stones abutting one another along a connecting facet to form a heart shape.
- 2. The gemstone arrangement according to claim 1 wherein the connecting facet forms a plane of symmetry through the arrangement.
- 3. The gemstone arrangement according to claim 1 wherein a girdle laterally separates an upper and a lower facetted surface on each of the pear shaped stones.
- 4. The gemstone arrangement according to claim 3 wherein the upper surface of one of the pear shaped stones has an identical number of facets as that of an upper surface of a second of the pear shaped stones.
- 5. The gemstone arrangement according to claim 4 wherein the lower surface of one of the pear shaped stones has an identical number of facets as that of a lower surface of the second of the pear shaped stones.
- 6. The gemstone arrangement according to claim 3 wherein each pear shaped stone has about 5 to about 30 facets on each of the upper and lower surfaces.
- 7. The gemstone arrangement according to claim 3 wherein each pear shaped stone on the upper surface has a table facet of larger area than any other facet on the upper surface.
- 8. The gemstone arrangement according to claim 7 wherein an area of the table facet covers at least 70% of an area of the upper surface.
- 9. The gemstone arrangement according to claim 3 wherein each pear shaped stone on the lower surface has a table facet of larger area than any other facet on the lower surface.
- 10. The gemstone arrangement according to claim 1 wherein each pear shaped stone has a table facet of larger area than any other facet and each pear shaped stone table facet has an edge directly abutting the other.
- 11. The gemstone arrangement according to claim 6 wherein none of the facets on one of the pear shaped stones has a facet identical in shape to any other facet on that pear shaped stone.
- 12. The gemstone arrangement according to claim 7 wherein the table facet has a greater number of edges than any other facet on the upper surface.
- 13. The gemstone arrangement according to claim 12 wherein the table facet has five or more edges.
- 14. The gemstone arrangement according to claim 3 wherein the lower surface has a culet serving as a point common to a table facet which is the largest facet on the lower surface and to at least five other facets.
- 15. The gemstone arrangement according to claim 3 wherein at least four facets on the lower surface are triangles, each cut at angles ranging from 39° to 42°.
- 16. The gemstone arrangement according to claim 3 wherein at least four facets on the upper surface are triangles each cut at angles ranging from 20° to 22°.
- 17. The gemstone arrangement according to claim 3 further comprising at least seven facets each cut at angles ranging from 35° to 38°.
