This application relates to the field of communication technologies, and more specifically, to a measurement parameter transferring method and a related device.
Measurement configuration is one of measurement steps in a wireless communication system. In a measurement configuration phase, a network sends information required for measurement to UE by using a measurement configuration message through signaling. After receiving the signaling, the UE correspondingly modifies a measurement configuration database and a measurement report list that are of the UE, and notifies the network of a modification succeed message. The measurement configuration message may include a measurement gap and measurement gap sharing.
A central unit (CU) and a distributed unit (DU) exist in fifth-generation (5G) communication. A network device (such as a gNodeB) may be divided, based on a protocol layer, into at least one distributed unit and at least one central unit connected to the at least one distributed unit. In a possible division manner, the distributed unit may include a radio link control (RLC) layer function, a medium access control (MAC) layer function, and a physical (PRY) layer function. The central unit may include a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) layer function, a service data adaptation protocol (SDAP) layer function, and a radio resource control (RRC) layer function. A network architecture formed by the CU and the DU may be referred to as a CU-DU architecture. In another design, functions of the CU or the may alternatively be obtained through division based on a service type or another system requirement. For example, division is performed based on a latency, functions whose processing time needs to satisfy a latency requirement are deployed on the DU, and functions whose processing time does not need to satisfy the latency requirement are deployed on the CU.
In a currently existing CU-DU architecture, how the CU obtains a gap sharing parameter is not specified. Consequently, a terminal device may be unable to accurately obtain the gap sharing parameter in time.
A measurement parameter is a parameter related to scheduling, and a MAC layer is responsible for scheduling. Therefore, a DU can accurately determine a gap sharing parameter in time. It is clear that the accompanying drawings in the following descriptions merely show some embodiments of this application, and a person of ordinary skill in the art can derive other drawings from these accompanying drawings without creative efforts.
In the descriptions of this application, terms such as “first” or “second” are merely used for distinction and description, and cannot be understood as an indication or implication of relative importance, or as an indication or implication of an order. In this application, for network devices with different numbers, such as “a first network device”, the numbers are merely used for convenience in description of context, and different sequence numbers do not have specific technical meanings. For example, the first network device and a second network device may be understood as one or any one of a series of network devices. For example, a function of a numbered network device may be determined by using context content of the numbered network device, and/or may be determined by using a function of information carried in the numbered network device. In specific implementation, network devices with different numbers may be a same network device or a same type of network device. This is not limited in this application.
Terms such as “operation 201” or “operation 202” in this application are merely used for distinction and description, and cannot be understood as an indication or implication of relative importance of an operation, or as an indication or implication of an execution sequence of an operation.
The term “and/or” in this application describes only an association relationship for describing associated objects and indicates that three relationships may exist. For example, A and/or B may indicate the following three cases: Only A exists, both A and B exist, and only B exists. In addition, the character “/” in this specification generally indicates an “or” relationship between the associated objects.
In this application, “at least one” refers to one or more, and “a plurality of” refers to two or more. The term “and/or” describes an association relationship between associated objects and indicates that three relationships may exist. For example, A and/or B may indicate the following cases: Only A exists, both A and B exist, and only B exists, where A and B may be singular or plural. The character “/” usually indicates an “or” relationship between the associated objects. “At least one item (piece) of the following” or a similar expression thereof refers to any combination of these items, including any combination of singular items (pieces) or plural items (pieces). For example, at least one item (piece) of a, b, or c may indicate: a, b, c, a and b, a and c, b and c, or a, b, and c, where a, b, and c may be singular or plural.
In this application, “transmission” may include the following three cases: data sending, data receiving, or data sending and data receiving. That is, data transmission herein includes uplink data transmission and/or downlink data transmission. Data may include a channel and/or a signal. The uplink data transmission is uplink channel transmission and/or uplink signal transmission, and the downlink data transmission is downlink channel transmission and/or downlink signal transmission.
In this application, the terms “may include”, “have”, and any other variants are intended to cover the non-exclusive inclusion, for example, a process, method, system, product, or device that includes a list of steps or units is not necessarily limited to those steps or units that are clearly listed, but may include other steps or units not clearly listed or inherent to the process, method, product, or device.
The following describes technical solutions of this application with reference to the accompanying drawings. Operation 201: A first network device sends a first parameter to a second network device, where the first parameter is used to indicate a proportion of measurement gap sharing between different measurement types.
Optionally, the first network device may be a DU, and the second network device may be a CU. Functions of the CU may be implemented by one entity, or may be implemented by different entities. For example, the functions of the CU may be further divided. For example, a control plane (CP) is separated from a user plane (UP), that is, a control plane of the CU (CU-CP) is separated from a user plane of the CU (CU-UP). For example, the CU-CP and the CU-UP may be implemented by different function entities. The CU-CP and the CU-UP may be coupled to the DU to jointly implement functions of the base station. In another design, the CU may alternatively have one or more functions of a core network. One or more CUs may be disposed in a centralized manner or a separated manner. For example, the CUs may be disposed on a network side for ease of centralized management. The DU may have a plurality of radio frequency functions, and the plurality of radio frequency functions may be remotely set. In this application, an interface for interaction between the CU and the DU may be referred to as an F1 interface. An F1AP message may be used for interaction between the CU and the DU. For example, an existing F1AP message may be a gNB-CU/gNB-DU configuration update message, a gNB-CU/gNB-DU configuration update response (configuration update acknowledge) message, a UE context setup/modification request (user equipment context setup/modification request) message, a UE context setup/modification response (user equipment context setup/modification response) message, a UE context setup/modification required (user equipment context setup/modification required) message, or a UE context release command/request/complete (UE context release command/request/complete) message.
The first parameter may be sent based on a request. For example, the second network device may send a request message to the first network device to request the first parameter. For example, the request message may be included in a terminal device context setup request (UE CONTEXT SETUP REQUEST) message, and the first parameter is included in a terminal device context setup response (UE CONTEXT SETUP RESPONSE) message. For example, the request message may be included in a terminal device context modification request (UE CONTEXT MODIFICATION REQUEST) message, and the first parameter is included in a terminal device context modification response (UE CONTEXT MODIFICATION RESPONSE) message. The first parameter may alternatively be included in the terminal device context modification request (UE CONTEXT MODIFICATION REQUIRED) message.
Optionally, the first parameter is gap sharing. For example, the gap sharing may refer to a proportion of gap sharing between different measurement types, and the gap sharing may be used to determine proportions of measurement gaps allocated to various types of measurement. For example, gap sharing between intra-frequency measurement and inter-frequency measurement that need a gap needs to be considered currently. If a network configures that gap sharing of intra-frequency measurement is 25%, it means that in every four periodic resources of the gap, one periodic resource is used for intra-frequency measurement, and three periodic resources are used for inter-frequency measurement. In a conventional technology, gap sharing has four values, and is represented by 2 bits; and gap sharing and the gap may exist in information element MeasConfig and then placed in new information element MeasGapSharingConfig.
The measurement type may include at least one of the following: intra-frequency measurement, inter-frequency measurement, inter-RAT (inter-RAT) measurement, and reference signal time difference (RSTD) measurement.
Optionally, the first network device and the second network device each may be a radio access network (RAN) device, such as an eNB or a gNB.
In this case, specifically, a gap sharing parameter/configuration may be directly interacted through an X2/Xn interface. The “gap sharing parameter” in this application may also be referred to as the “gap sharing configuration”. Specifically, the gap sharing configuration may be information element MeasGapSharingConfig, or may be an inter-node message exchanged in a form of a container. Specifically, the inter-node message may be CG-Config or CG-ConfigInfo defined in the IS 38.331 text in the 3GPP standard.
Operation 202: The second network device sends the first parameter to a terminal device.
For example, the first parameter may be included in a radio resource control reconfiguration (RRC reconfiguration) message.
This embodiment of this application provides a communication method for transferring a gap sharing parameter. In one method, a DU sends a gap sharing parameter to a CU, so that the CU can accurately obtain the gap sharing parameter in time, and finally, a terminal device can accurately obtain the gap sharing parameter in time.
In another method, gap sharing is exchanged between gNodeBs, so that when the gNodeBs exchange a gap configuration, one gNodeB notifies the peer party of a gap sharing parameter determined by the gNodeB, where the gap sharing parameter is used as a reference for effectively performing measurement configuration by the peer party, thereby improving measurement efficiency and reliability of an entire communication system.
