Claims
- 1. A bandpass filter comprising:
a plurality of resonators on a printed circuit board; an input pin connected to a first resonator of the plurality of resonators; an output pin connected to a second resonator of the plurality of resonators, wherein the first and second resonators are magnetically coupled to each other, wherein the first and second resonators are coupled to other resonators using mixed coupling, and wherein the other resonators are coupled to each other using electric coupling.
- 2. The bandpass filter of claim 1, wherein the resonators are approximately quarter wavelength transmission lines.
- 3. The bandpass filter of claim 2, wherein the quarter wavelength transmission lines are microstrip transmission lines printed in a spiral pattern.
- 4. The bandpass filter of claim 1, wherein the input and output pins and the resonators form a C shaped structure on the printed circuit board.
- 5. The bandpass filter of claim 1, wherein the bandpass filter consists solely of transmission lines.
- 6. The bandpass filter of claim 1, wherein overall size of the bandpass filter is substantially less than one wavelength in any dimension.
- 7. The bandpass filter of claim 1, wherein the printed circuit board includes a low variation dielectric.
- 8. The bandpass filter of claim 1, wherein the printed circuit board includes GML-1000.
- 9. The bandpass filter of claim 1, wherein all the resonators form a square array.
- 10. The bandpass filter of claim 1, wherein the printed circuit board has a dielectric constant variability of less than 2%.
- 11. The bandpass filter of claim 1, wherein the bandpass filter has attenuation at an image frequency below a local oscillator frequency.
- 12. The bandpass filter of claim 1, wherein the bandpass filter has attenuation at an image frequency above a local oscillator frequency.
- 13. A bandpass filter comprising:
a first resonator magnetically coupled to a second resonator; a third resonator electrically coupled to a fourth resonator, wherein the third and fourth resonators are coupled to the first and second resonators, respectively using mixed coupling; and an input pin and an output pin connected to first and second resonators, respectively, wherein the input and output pins and the first, second, third and fourth resonators form a C shaped structure on a printed circuit board.
- 14. The bandpass filter of claim 13, wherein the resonators are approximately quarter wavelength transmission lines.
- 15. The bandpass filter of claim 14, wherein the quarter wavelength transmission lines are microstrip transmission lines printed in a spiral pattern.
- 16. The bandpass filter of claim 13, wherein the printed circuit board includes a low variation dielectric.
- 17. The bandpass filter of claim 13, wherein the printed circuit board includes GML-1000.
- 18. The bandpass filter of claim 13, all the resonators form a square array.
- 19. The bandpass filter of claim 13, wherein the printed circuit board has a dielectric constant variability of less than 2%.
- 20. The bandpass filter of claim 13, wherein the bandpass filter has attenuation at an image frequency below a local oscillator frequency.
- 21. The bandpass filter of claim 13, wherein the bandpass filter has attenuation at an image frequency above a local oscillator frequency.
- 22. The bandpass filter of claim 13, wherein overall size of the bandpass filter is substantially less than one wavelength in any dimension.
- 23. A bandpass filter comprising:
a first spiral shaped resonator coupled to a second spiral shaped resonator; a third spiral shaped resonator coupled to a fourth spiral shaped resonator, wherein the third and fourth spiral shaped resonators are coupled to the first and second spiral shaped resonators, respectively; and an input pin and an output pin connected to first and second spiral shaped resonators, respectively, wherein the input and output pins and the first, second, third and fourth spiral shaped resonators form a C shaped structure on a printed circuit board.
- 24. The bandpass filter of claim 23, wherein the first spiral shaped resonator is magnetically coupled to the second spiral shaped resonator.
- 25. The bandpass filter of claim 23, wherein the third spiral shaped resonator is electrically coupled to the fourth spiral shaped resonator.
- 26. The bandpass filter of claim 23, wherein the third spiral shaped resonator is coupled to the first spiral shaped resonator using mixed electric/magnetic coupling.
- 27. The bandpass filter of claim 23, wherein the fourth spiral shaped resonator is coupled to the second spiral shaped resonator using mixed electric/magnetic coupling.
- 28. The bandpass filter of claim 23, wherein the printed circuit board includes a low variation dielectric.
- 29. The bandpass filter of claim 23, wherein the printed circuit board includes GML-1000.
- 30. The bandpass filter of claim 23, wherein all the resonators form a square array.
- 31. The bandpass filter of claim 23, wherein the printed circuit board has a dielectric constant variability of less than 2%.
- 32. The bandpass filter of claim 23, wherein the bandpass filter has attenuation at an image frequency below a local oscillator frequency.
- 33. The bandpass filter of claim 23, wherein the bandpass filter has attenuation at an image frequency above a local oscillator frequency.
- 34. The bandpass filter of claim 23, wherein overall size of the bandpass filter is substantially less than one wavelength in any dimension.
- 35. A bandpass filter comprising:
a first spiral shaped resonator coupled to a second spiral shaped resonator; a third resonator coupled to a the first and second spiral shaped resonators, the third resonator comprising two connected spirals; and an input pin and an output pin connected to first and second resonators, respectively.
