Claims
- 1. An injection molding hot runner nozzle comprising:a nozzle having a melt channel; a first electric heater, said first heater in thermal contact with said nozzle to provide heat to said melt channel; and a second electric heater, said second heater in thermal contact with said nozzle to provide heat to said melt channel; wherein said second heater is electrically independent from said first heater and wherein said first and said second heaters are wrapped around substantially the same portion of said nozzle.
- 2. An injection molding hot runner nozzle comprising:a nozzle having a melt channel; a first electric heater in thermal contact with said nozzle to provide heat to said melt channel; and a second electric heater in thermal contact with said nozzle to provide heat to said melt channel, said second heater being electrically independent from said first heater so that said second heater may be operated simultaneously or alternatively with respect to said first heater.
- 3. An injection molding hot runner nozzle comprising:a nozzle having a melt channel; a first electric heater in thermal contact with said nozzle to provide heat to said melt channel; and a second electric heater in thermal contact with said nozzle to provide heat to said melt channel, said second heater being electrically independent from said first heater, so that said second heater may operate simultaneously or alternatively with respect to said first heater and said second heater overlying said first heater so that said first and second heaters thermally effect substantially the same portion of said nozzle.
- 4. An injection molding system comprising:an injection manifold having manifold melt channels; an injection nozzle in communication with said manifold; a first electric heater and a second electric heater, both heaters being located in thermal contact with said nozzle, wherein said first and said second heaters are wrapped around substantially the same portion of said nozzle; and at least one dielectric layer separating said first and second heaters from said nozzle.
- 5. An injection molding system comprising:an injection manifold having at least one manifold melt channel; an injection nozzle having a melt channel in communication with said at least one manifold melt channel; a first electric heater in thermal contact with said nozzle to provide heat to said nozzle melt channel; and a second electric heater in thermal contact with said nozzle to provide heat to said nozzle melt channel, said second heater being electrically independent from said first heater so that said second heater may be operated simultaneously or alternatively with respect to said first heater.
- 6. The injection molding system of claim 5, wherein said second heater is positioned to overlie said first heater so that said first and second heaters thermally effect substantially the same portion of said nozzle melt channel.
