Claims
- 1. A pocketed leaf for a combination compact disc holder and informational booklet comprising:
(a) a pocket panel including a fold line dividing the panel into a first portion and a second portion, the first and second portions each including an inner and an outer face; and (b) a pocket on the inner face of at least one of the first and second portions of the pocket panel, the pocket being formed by a pocket sheet thermally fused to said inner face along a seam; (c) wherein the pocket sheet and pocket panel are at least partially formed of a heat sealable material; (d) the pocket including an entrance opening between the pocket panel and pocket sheet, and being of such size and shape as to receive and retain a compact disc therein.
- 2. A pocketed leaf according to claim 1 wherein the pocketed leaf includes a first pocket sheet thermally fused to the inner face of the first portion of the pocket panel to form a first pocket, and a second pocket sheet thermally fused to the inner face of the second portion of the pocket panel to form a second pocket.
- 3. The pocketed leaf of claim 2, wherein the first and second pocket sheets are connected together to form a continuous pocket sheet, the continuous pocket sheet including a central opening forming said entrance openings in first and second pockets.
- 4. A pocketed leaf according to claim 1 wherein the pocket sheet each includes an elongated cutout along an edge proximate the associated pocket entrance opening, the cutout in the pocket sheet being sized and shaped to facilitate grasping a compact disc for removal from the pocket.
- 5. A pocketed leaf according to claim 1 wherein the pocket panel and pocket sheet are comprised of vinyl.
- 6. A pocketed leaf according to claim 1 wherein the pocket panel and pocket sheet are comprised of thermoplastic.
- 7. A pocketed leaf according to claim 1 wherein the pocket panel and pocket sheet are at least partly comprised of heat sealable synthetic fibers.
- 8. A pocketed leaf according to claim 1 wherein the pocket panel includes a first outer layer constructed of a heat sealable material and a second inner layer comprised of heat sealable non-woven fabric adhered to said first layer, wherein the non-woven fabric layer forms an inside surface in the at least one pocket.
- 9. The pocketed leaf according to claim 1 wherein the pocket sheet forming the at least one pocket includes a cutout proximate the entrance opening, wherein the cutout is of suitable size and shape to facilitate grasping a compact disc in the pocket.
- 10. A combination compact disc holder and informational booklet comprising:
(a) a paper cover having a fold which divides the cover into a first cover panel and a second cover panel, the first and second cover panels each having an inside surface and an outside surface; (b) at least one pocketed leaf according to claim 1; and (c) a booklet of multiple paper leaves, the at least one pocketed leaf and the paper leaves being folded and sewn together along a fold line to form pages, the pages being of substantially the same size and shape as the first and second panels of the cover; (d) wherein the rear faces of the first and second portions of the panel of the at least one pocketed leaf are adhered to the inside surfaces of the first and second cover panels respectively, thereby forming pockets on inside faces of the cover panels.
- 11. A combination compact disc holder and informational booklet comprising:
(a) a paper cover having a fold which divides the cover into a first cover panel and a second cover panel, the first and second cover panels each having an inside surface and an outside surface; (b) a fly sheet having a back face; (c) at least one pocketed leaf according to claim 1; and (d) a booklet of multiple paper leaves; (e) wherein the fly sheet, the at least one pocketed leaf, and the paper leaves are folded and sewn together along a fold line to form pages, the pages being of substantially the same size and shape as the first and second panels of the cover; and (f) wherein the back face of the fly sheet is adhered to the inside surfaces of the first and second cover panels.
- 12. A pocketed leaf for a combination compact disc holder and informational booklet comprising:
(a) first and second composite panels having substantially the same size and shape, each composite panel including a layer of heat sealable material on a back side, and a layer of heat sealable non-woven fabric on a pocket-receiving side, the composite panels being stacked with their back sides together, the stacked panels being divided into first and second portions by a fold line, and the first and second portions each having an inner face and an outer face; (b) a plurality of heat sealable pocket sheets, at least one pocket sheet overlying each of the inner and outer faces of the first and second portions; (c) wherein the stacked composite panels forming the first portion and the pocket sheets overlying the first page are thermally fused together along a first seam, and wherein the stacked composite panels forming the second portion and the pocket sheets overlying the second page are thermally fused together along a second seam, thereby forming pockets on the front and back faces of the first and second portions; (d) wherein said pockets each include an entrance opening, and the pockets are each shaped to receive and support a compact disc therein.
- 13. The pocketed leaf according to claim 12 wherein the pocket sheet forming each pocket includes a cutout proximate the pocket opening, wherein the cutout is of suitable size and shape to facilitate grasping a compact disc in the pocket.
- 14. A combination compact disc holder and informational booklet comprising:
(a) a paper cover having a fold which divides the cover into a first cover panel and a second cover panel, the first and second cover panels each having an inside surface and an outside surface; (b) a fly sheet having a back face; (c) at least one pocketed leaf according to claim 12; and (d) a booklet of multiple paper leaves; (e) wherein the fly sheet, the at least one pocketed leaf, and the paper leaves are folded and sewn together along a fold line to form pages, the pages being of substantially the same size and shape as the first and second panels of the cover; and (f) wherein the back face of the fly sheet is adhered to the inside surfaces of the first and second cover panels.
- 15. A combination compact disc holder and informational booklet comprising:
(a) a paper cover having a fold which divides the cover into a first cover panel and a second cover panel, the first and second cover panels each having an inside surface, an outside surface, a bottom edge, a side edge, and a top edge; (b) a booklet of multiple paper leaves, the leaves being folded and sewn along a fold line to form a first page, a second page, a last page, a next to last page, and a plurality of additional pages, the pages being of substantially the same size and shape as the first and second panels of the cover; wherein the second page includes a slit that is parallel to the fold line; and (c) an adhesive coating applied to the inside surfaces of the first and last cover panels, wherein the first and last page of the booklet are adhesively attached to the inside surface of the first and second cover panel by the adhesive coating; the first page being slightly smaller than the first cover panel, thereby leaving a C-shaped adhesive strip therearound; (d) wherein the second page is attached to the adhesive strip to form a pocket between the second page and the first page of the booklet, the slit in the second page forms a pocket opening, and the pocket and pocket opening are of suitable size to receive and retain a compact disc.
- 16. The combination compact disc holder and booklet according to claim 15 wherein the second page further includes a cutout along an edge of the slit, wherein the cutout is of suitable size and shape to facilitate grasping a compact disc in the pocket.
- 17. The combination compact disc holder and booklet according to claim 15 further including a protective plastic coating on the outside surfaces of the first and second cover panels.
- 18. The combination compact disc holder and booklet according to claim 15 wherein:
(a) the next to last page of the booklet includes a second slit that is parallel to the fold line; (b) the last page of the booklet is slightly smaller than the last cover panel, and thereby leaves a second C-shaped adhesive strip therearound; and (c) the next to last page of the booklet is attached to the second adhesive strip to form a second pocket between the next to last page and the last page of the booklet, wherein the second slit in the next to last page forms a second pocket opening, and the second pocket and second pocket opening are of suitable size to receive and retain a compact disc.
- 19. The combination compact disc holder and booklet according to claim 15 wherein at least one of the multiple paper leaves in the booklet includes at least one page that includes an additional pocket, wherein the additional pocket is of suitable size to receive and retain a compact disc.
- 20. The combination compact disc holder and booklet according to claim 15 wherein the dimensions of the holder/booklet when folded at the fold of the cover are about 5¼ inches tall by about 5¼ inches wide.
- 21. A combination compact disc holder and informational booklet comprising:
(a) a paper cover having a fold which divides the cover into a first cover panel and a second cover panel, the first and second cover panels each having an inside surface, an outside surface, a bottom edge, a side edge, and a top edge; (b) a booklet of multiple paper leaves, the leaves being folded and sewn along a fold line to form a first page, a last page, and a plurality of additional pages, the pages being of substantially the same size and shape as the first and second panels of the cover; (c) an adhesive coating applied to the inside surfaces of the first and last cover panels, wherein the first and last page of the booklet are adhesively attached to the inside surfaces of the first and second cover panels by the adhesive coating; the first page being slightly smaller than the first cover panel, thereby leaving a C-shaped adhesive strip therearound; and (d) a pocket sheet attached to the adhesive strip to form a pocket between the pocket sheet and the first page of the booklet, wherein the pocket is of suitable size to receive and retain a compact disc and has an opening adjacent to the fold line.
- 22. The combination compact disc holder and booklet according to claim 21 wherein the pocket sheet further includes a cutout along an unattached edge adjacent to the fold line of the booklet, wherein the cutout is of suitable size and shape to facilitate grasping a compact disc in the pocket.
- 23. The combination compact disc holder and booklet according to claim 21 further including a protective plastic coating on the outside surfaces of the first and second cover panels.
- 24. The combination compact disc holder and booklet according to claim 21 wherein:
(a) the last page of the booklet is slightly smaller than the last cover panel, and thereby leaves a second C-shaped adhesive strip therearound; and (b) a second pocket sheet is attached to the second adhesive strip to form a second pocket between the second pocket sheet and the last page of the booklet, wherein the second pocket is of suitable size to receive and retain a compact disc and has an opening that is adjacent to the fold line.
- 25. The combination compact disc holder and booklet according to claim 21 wherein at least one of the multiple paper leaves in the booklet includes at least one page including an additional pocket, wherein the additional pocket is of suitable size to receive and retain a compact disc.
- 26. The combination compact disc holder and booklet according to claim 21 wherein the dimensions of the holder/booklet when folded at the fold of the cover are about 5¼ inches tall by about 5¼ inches wide.
- 27. A combination compact disc holder and informational booklet comprising:
(a) a paper cover having a first fold which divides the cover into a first cover panel and a second cover panel, and a second fold parallel to the first fold which divides the cover between the second cover panel and a third cover panel, the first, second, and third cover panels each having an inside surface, an outside surface, a bottom edge, and a top edge, and the first cover panel having a side edge; (b) a booklet of multiple paper leaves, the leaves being folded and sewn along a fold line to form a first page, a last page, and a plurality of additional pages, the pages being of substantially the same size and shape as the cover panels of the cover; (c) an adhesive coating applied to the inside surfaces of the second and third cover panels, wherein the first and last page of the booklet are adhesively attached to the inside surfaces of the first and second cover panels respectively by the adhesive coating; the first page being slightly shorter in height than the second cover panel, thereby leaving first adhesive strip along the top edge of the second cover panel and a second adhesive strip along the bottom edge of the second cover panel; (d) wherein the first cover panel is folded against the inside surface of the second cover panel along the first fold and is attached to the second cover panel by the first and second adhesive strips, thereby forming a pocket between the first cover panel and the first page of the booklet, wherein the pocket is of suitable size to receive and retain a compact disc and has an opening adjacent to the fold line.
- 28. The combination compact disc holder and booklet according to claim 27 wherein the first cover panel further includes a cutout along its side edge adjacent to the pocket opening, wherein the cutout is of suitable size and shape to facilitate grasping a compact disc in the pocket.
- 29. The combination compact disc holder and booklet according to claim 27 further including a protective plastic coating on the outside surfaces of the second and third cover panels.
- 30. The combination compact disc holder and booklet according to claim 27 wherein:
(a) the cover further includes a fourth cover panel, wherein a third fold that is parallel to the second fold divides the cover between the third cover panel and the fourth cover panel; (b) the last page of the booklet is slightly shorter in height than the third cover panel, thereby leaving a third adhesive strip along the top edge of the third cover panel and a third adhesive strip along the bottom edge of the third cover panel; (c) wherein the fourth cover panel is folded against the inside surface of the third cover panel along the third fold and is attached to the third cover panel by the third and fourth adhesive strips, thereby forming a second pocket between the fourth cover panel and the last page of the booklet, wherein the second pocket is of suitable size to receive and retain a compact disc and has an opening adjacent to the fold line.
- 31. The combination compact disc holder and booklet according to claim 27 wherein at least one of the multiple paper leaves in the booklet includes at least one page including an additional pocket, wherein the additional pocket is of suitable size to receive and retain a compact disc and has an opening adjacent to the fold line.
- 32. The combination compact disc holder and booklet according to claim 27 wherein the dimensions of the holder/booklet when folded at the second fold of the cover are about 5¼ inches tall by about 5¼ inches wide.
- 33. A combination compact disc holder and informational booklet comprising a cover and a plurality of pages, said cover and pages being made of substantially rectangular paper sheets, the cover being of heavier stock and including at least one pocket having such size and shape as to retain a compact disc therein, and the pages being of lighter stock and carrying printed information concerning the content of the compact disc stored in the at least one pocket, the pages being folded and sewn along a fold line and the cover being glued to an outer surface of an outermost page.
