- 7. An apparatus according to claim 6, wherein said lock member has a restricting portion, which projects between the first side wall of the pack unit and the first partition to restrict movement of the pack unit at the lock position and moves away from between the first side wall and the first partition at the unlock position.
- 8. A compact electronic apparatus comprising:
- a base unit including a bottom surface, an opening in the bottom surface, and a storing portion provided in the base unit and communicating with the opening, the storing portion including a first side wall having a first receiving portion and a second side wall facing the first side wall and having a second receiving portion;
- a pack unit detachably stored in the storing portion, and including an outer surface, a first engaging portion removably engaged with the first receiving portion and a second engaging portion removably engaged with the second receiving portion, the pack unit being movable in the storing portion, in a direction substantially parallel to the bottom surface and across the first and second side walls, between a detaching position wherein the pack unit is installed in the storing portion and a connecting position wherein the first and second engaging portions are engaged with the first and second receiving portions, respectively, the outer surface being flush with the bottom surface and covering the opening when the pack unit is in the connecting position; and
- lock means provided at the base unit, for locking the pack unit in the connecting position.
- 9. A compact electronic apparatus according to claim 8, wherein the storing portion includes a ceiling surface having first terminals, and the pack unit includes a third side wall having a third engaging portion, and an upper surface facing the ceiling surface and having second terminals which are connected to the first terminals when the pack unit is in the connecting position.
- 10. A compact electronic apparatus according to claim 9, wherein the third side wall includes an extending wall having the third engaging portion.
- 11. A compact electronic apparatus according to claim 10, wherein the first receiving portion includes a sliding member being slidable between a remove position wherein the sliding member allows the pack unit to move to the connecting position and an engaging position wherein the sliding member is engaged with the first engaging portion.
- 12. A compact electronic apparatus according to claim 11, wherein the lock means includes a locking member provided on the first side wall and movable between a locking position wherein the locking member locks the sliding member in the locking position and a release position wherein the locking member allows the sliding member to move.
- 13. A compact electronic apparatus comprising:
- a base unit including a bottom surface, an opening in the bottom surface, and a storing portion having a ceiling wall, a first side wall, and a second side wall facing the first side wall, the first side wall having a side opening and a first receiving portion, the second side wall having a second receiving portion;
- a pack unit including an outer surface, a third side wall, an extending wall extending from the first side wall and having a first engaging portion, and a fourth side wall facing the third side wall and having a second engaging portion, the pack unit being movable in the storing portion, in a direction substantially parallel to the bottom surface and across the first and second side walls, between a detaching position wherein the detachable pack unit is installed on the ceiling wall and a connecting position wherein the first and second engaging portions are engaged with the first and second receiving portions, respectively, the outer surface being flush with the bottom surface and the side opening being covered with the extending wall when the pack unit is in the connecting position; and
