Claims
- 1. An electronic apparatus having a first function and performing a second function different from said first function according to instructions and data inputted through a keyboard, comprising:
- a main body having a power source;
- a receiving portion formed in said main body; and
- a plurality of integrated circuit card means, each for enabling the electronic apparatus to perform an operation of a distinct category of the electronic apparatus, said integrated circuit card means being shaped to fit securely in said receiving portion;
- each said integrated circuit card means including,
- means for changing the physical configuration of at least a portion of the keyboard, and
- a memory integrated circuit chip.
- 2. The electronic apparatus as claimed in claim 1, further comprising keypad means associated with said portion of said keyboard, said portion of the keyboard of said integrated circuit card means comprises indicating means for designating a function associated with said keypad means.
- 3. The electronic apparatus as claimed in claim 1, further comprising:
- a portable casing for housing said main body and said integrated circuit cards.
- 4. The electronic apparatus as claimed in claim 3, wherein said portable casing comprises a holder made of a conductive sheet for storing said integrated circuit card means.
- 5. The electronic apparatus as claimed in claim 1, wherein said main body includes display means for displaying information related to the functioning of said main unit and each integrated circuit card is connected to said main body through said receiving portion such that said receiving portion is located on said main body opposite a portion of said main body having said display means.
- 6. The electronic apparatus as claimed in claim 5, wherein said display means is a liquid crystal display.
- 7. An electronic organizer having a first function and performing a second function different from said first function according to instructions and data inputted through a keyboard, comprising:
- a main body having a power source and liquid crystal display;
- a receiving portion formed in said main body;
- a portable casing for housing said main body; and
- a plurality of integrated circuit cards, each integrated circuit card enabling said main body to perform an operation of a distinct category of the electronic apparatus, said integrated circuit cards being shaped to fit securely in said receiving portion;
- each said integrated circuit card including,
- means for changing the physical configuration of at least a portion of the keyboard, and
- a memory integrated circuit chip;
- said portable casing including,
- a plurality of pocket portions for storing said integrated circuit cards not being used by said main body.
- 8. The electronic organizer as claimed in claim 7, wherein said portable casing comprises a holder made of a conductive sheet for storing said integrated circuit card means.
- 9. The electronic organizer as claimed in claim 8, wherein said main unit includes arithmetic means for providing calculator operations in said main unit and said memory means including program memory means for storing programs to be used by said control means.
- 10. The electronic organizer as claimed in claim 8, wherein said integrated circuit card includes connecting terminal means for supplying signals from said integrated circuit card to said control means.
- 11. The electronic organizer as claimed in claim 8, wherein said memory means includes game memory means for storing a game program.
- 12. The electronic organizer as claimed in claim 8, further comprising case means for storing the electronic apparatus.
- 13. The electronic organizer as claimed in claim 11, wherein said case means comprises:
- first cover means for storing said main unit and said integrated circuit card wherein said integrated circuit card is connected to said main unit; and
- second cover means, connected to said first cover means, for covering said main unit being stored.
- 14. The electronic organizer as claimed in claim 12, wherein said second cover means includes storing means for storing a plurality of integrated circuit cards not connected to said main unit.
- 15. The electronic organizer as claimed in claim 13, wherein said storing means comprises a material which prevents static electricity generation.
- 16. The electronic organizer as claimed in claim 14, wherein said material is a conductive material.
- 17. The electronic organizer as claimed in claim 15, wherein said conductive material is a vinyl chloride containing carbon.
- 18. An electronic organizer having a keyboard for inputting information comprising:
- a main unit;
- a removable detachable integrated circuit card means for performing a predetermined operation of a distinct category in confirmation with said main unit; and
- connecting means for connecting said integrated circuit card to said main unit to provide an electrical connection therebetween;
- said main unit including,
- control means for controlling operations of said main unit;
- power supply means for supplying power to said control means and for supplying power to said integrated circuit card means when said integrated unit is connected to said main unit, and
- display means, operatively connected to said control means, for displaying information on said main unit;
- said integrated circuit card means including,
- means for physically reconfiguring the keyboard for designating preselected information or functions to be inputted into said control means and for changing a physical configuration of a keyboard input device, and
- memory means for storing data to be used by said control means;
- said connecting means including a receiving portion for supporting said integrated circuit card means.
