Claims
- 1. A sound record playing apparatus having a reduced height, comprising:
- (a) a casing having an upper part (1B) and a lower part (1A), the casing defining an inner cavity;
- (b) a vibration plate (16) formed in the upper part of the casing, wherein the vibration plate contacts a pickup (13);
- (c) a shaft (9) disposed within the inner cavity;
- (d) a sound record (2) having an upper surface and a lower surface, the sound record having a modulated groove (2a) formed in the upper surface therein, the sound record having an aperture formed concentrically therein, the shaft (9) extending through the aperture of the sound record (2);
- (e) a drive mechanism for rotating the sound record (2);
- (f) an expansion mechanism (6) contacting the sound record to transmit driving forces from the drive mechanism to the sound record, and wherein the expansion device (6) distances the record (2) from the pickup (13) when conversely rotated;
- (g) means for moving the sound record into engagement with the expansion mechanism, the means for moving the sound record into engagement being resilient and interfacing the lower surface of the sound record;
- (h) a tone arm (12) rotatably supported by the lower part (1A) of the casing, the tone arm having a return spring (14) to lure it towards the sound record;
- (i) the pickup fixed to an end of the tone arm, the pickup for reading the modulated groove of the sound record;
- (j) a stopper (15) formed on the lower part (1A) of the casing, the stopper positioning the tone arm in relation to the sound record; and
- (k) an auxiliary wheel (4), supported rotatably between the lower and upper casing parts, to steady the driving of the sound record.
- 2. The sound record playing apparatus of claim 1, wherein the expansion mechanisms comprising:
- (a) a lower member comprising:
- (1) a disk (62a), the disk (62a) having an aperture (62b) concentrically formed therein,
- (2) at least one claw disposed on the disk proximate to the aperture of the disk;
- (b) an upper member comprising a disk (61b), the disk having an aperture concentrically formed therein, and at least one operating claw, the at least one claw disposed on the disk proximate to the aperture formed in the disk, and wherein the lower member contacts the upper surface of the sound record, to drive the sound record in a first direction; and wherein the upper member contacts the lower member such that the at least one claw of the upper member engages the at least one claw of the lower member to transmit the driving force from the upper to the lower member, the shaft extending through the apertures of the disks of the members, and further wherein the disk of the upper member contacts the upper part of the casing.
- 3. The sound record playing apparatus of claim 1, wherein the drive mechanism comprises:
- (a) a drive shaft (3a) disposed within the casing; and
- (b) a drive wheel (3) mounted on the drive shaft, the drive wheel being in contact with the expansion mechanism.
- 4. The sound record playing apparatus of claim 1, wherein the means for moving the sound record comprises a spring disposed around the shaft.
- 5. A thin-thickness type recording disk reproducing apparatus comprising:
- a casing (1) having an upper part (1B) and a lower part (1A);
- a recording disk (2) accomodated in said casing;
- a driving mechanism for rotating said recording disk;
- a pickup (13), supported by the casing, for scanning a modulated groove (2a) in an upper surface of said recording disk (2);
- a stylus force mechanism for applying a stylus force to said pickup and for releasing the stylus force, said stylus force mechanism including: an elastic member (5), located between the lower part (1A) of the casing and the disk (2), for urging said recording disk at a lower surface thereof towards said upper casing; and an expansion mechanism (6) disposed between said recording disk (2) and said upper part (1B) of said casing;
- said expansion mechanism (6) including a recording disk side member (6B) fixed to said recording disk, and a casing side member (6A) abutting against said upper part (1B) of said casing and being operatively connected to said driving mechanism;
- wherein each of said recording disk side member and said casing side member has at least one operating claw consisting of an engaging side rising vertically and a slant side having a gradual inclination, and said casing side member, and both slant sides of said recording disk side member and said casing side member are abutable against each other; and
- wherein the expansion mechanism distances the recording disk from the pickup when conversely rotated.
