- 1. A method of identifying additional molecules which are likely to share the same activity as molecules previously identified as sharing the same activity, comprising the steps of:
a. analyzing fragments from the set of previously identified molecules with the topomeric CoMFA methodology; and b. searching a virtual library to identify those fragments having shapes substantially similar to the fragments used to perform the topomeric CoMFA analysis.
- 2. A method of identifying additional molecules which are likely to share the same activity as molecules previously identified as sharing the same activity, comprising the steps of:
a. analyzing fragments from the set of previously identified molecules with the topomeric CoMFA methodology; b. searching a virtual library to identify those fragments having shapes substantially similar to the fragments used to perform the topomeric CoMFA analysis; and c. determining the likely activity using the results of the topomeric CoMFA methodology of molecules formed when fragments identified in the virtual library are used to replace the fragments generated from the molecules in the initial set.
- 3. A method of identifying additional molecules which are likely to share the same activity as molecules previously identified as sharing the same activity, comprising the steps of:
a. fragmenting the previously identified molecules; (according to rules) b. topomerically aligning the fragments; c. calculating the field descriptors for the topomerically aligned fragments; d. analyzing the fragments with the topomeric CoMFA methodology; (to generate a 3D QSAR) e. searching a virtual library to identify those fragments contained in the library having shapes substantially similar to the fragments used to perform the topomeric CoMFA analysis; f. determining the likely activity, using the results of the topomeric CoMFA methodology, of molecules formed when fragments identified in the virtual library are used to replace the fragments generated from the molecules in the initial set.
