1. Technical Field
The present invention relates to compartment boxes for motor vehicles, and more particularly, to a compartment box for motor vehicles, and the compartment box can be opened laterally.
2. Description of Related Art
A conventional compartment box is usually made from boards. The top surface of the compartment box is selectively equipped with a cover, such that the compartment box has therein a hermetically sealed receiving space.
However, in general, a trunk of a car has an L-shaped opening which faces outward and laterally. In the situation where an opening is provided at the top surface of the conventional compartment box put inside the trunk, users have to extend their upper limbs and then open the compartment box from above in order to take any object out of the compartment box. As a result, it is inconvenient to tidy or take any objects in the compartment box.
Furthermore, the conventional compartment boxes are usually made of rigid materials and have a specific volume. The conventional compartment box cannot be collapsed even when the compartment box is not in use. As a result, when not in use, the compartment boxes have to be stored in an allocated space to the detriment of effective space management and ease of storage.
In view of this, it is imperative to provide a compartment box adapted for use with motor vehicles and advantageously characterized by ease of storage and ease of use.
The present invention relates to a compartment box for motor vehicles. A first covering board and a second covering board of the compartment box together provide a full-shield cover. A concealable opening is laterally formed at the compartment box, such that the compartment box can be opened laterally to allow objects to be put into and taken out of the compartment box easily and conveniently.
The present invention provides a compartment box for motor vehicles. The compartment box for motor vehicles comprises: a rectangular board having a first edge portion, a second edge portion, a third edge portion, and a fourth edge portion consecutively connected; two side boards formed by extending the first edge portion and the third edge portion by a first length; a first covering board formed by extending the second edge portion by a second length and separably coupled to the two side boards by two first coupling elements, respectively, the second length being less than the first length; and a second covering board formed by extending the fourth edge portion by a third length and separably coupled to the two side boards by two second coupling elements, respectively, the third length being larger than a sum of the first length and a length of the first, edge portion, wherein the first covering board and the second covering board are separably coupled together to provide a full-shield cover, and a concealable opening is provided at the first covering board.
Implementation of the present invention at least involves the following inventive steps:
1. As the compartment box for motor vehicles is positioned inside the trunk, users can easily take objects out of the compartment box through a laterally-facing concealable opening thereof;
2. The compartment box is characterized in that covering boards are coupled to side boards by means of coupling elements, respectively, thereby rendering it easy to assemble and disassemble the compartment box; and
3. The compartment box can be folded up easily and thus is convenient to store.

The rectangular board 10, which is a major board of the compartment box, has a convoluted surface (composed of grooves and ridges) designed to reinforce the rectangular board 10. The rectangular board 10 has a first edge portion 11, a second edge portion 12, a third edge portion 13, and a fourth edge portion 14 consecutively connected. The edge portions 11, 12, 13, 14 are the four sides of the rectangular board 10, respectively. The first edge portion 11 and the third edge portion 13 are the two short sides of the rectangular board 10, whereas the second edge portion 12 and the fourth edge portion 14 are the two long sides of the rectangular board 10. Alternatively, the first edge portion 11 and the third edge portion 13 are the two long sides of the rectangular board 10, whereas the second edge portion 12 and the fourth edge portion 14 are the two short sides of the rectangular board 10.
A flange 15 is disposed at the periphery of the rectangular board 10. If a container which contains a liquid is kept in the compartment box but the liquid leaks inadvertently, the flange 15 disposed at the periphery of the rectangular board 10 can confine the liquid to the compartment box, thereby preventing the liquid from leaking out of the compartment box.
The side boards 20 are formed by extending the first edge portion 11 and the third edge portion 13 of the rectangular board 10 outward by a first length L1, respectively. The side boards 20 each have a convoluted surface (composed of grooves and ridges) designed to reinforce the side boards 20. Furthermore, surfaces of the side boards 20 which face away from the rectangular board 10 are defined as external surfaces of the compartment box. Handles 21 can be disposed on the external surfaces to facilitate delivery of the compartment box, respectively.
The first covering board 30 is formed as a result when the second edge portion 12 of the rectangular board 10 extends outward by a second length L2. The second length L2 is less than the first length L1. The first covering board 30 is separably coupled to the two side boards 20 by two first coupling elements 50, respectively. The two first coupling elements 50 are first zippers disposed on two sides of the first covering board 30 and disposed at lower edges of the two side boards 20, respectively. The two sides of the first covering board 30 where the two first zippers are disposed run along the second length L2. The first covering board 30 is positioned proximate to the lower edges of the two side boards 20 and is separably coupled thereto. As the second length L2 is less than the first length L1, the first covering board 30 gets coupled to the lower edges of the two side boards 20 as soon as the two side boards 20 and the first covering board 30 are erected and fastened to the first zippers.
The second covering board 40 is formed as a result when the fourth edge portion 14 of the rectangular board 10 extends outward by a third length L3. The third length L3 is larger than the sum of the first length L1 and the length of the first edge portion 11. The second covering board 40 is separably coupled to the two side boards 20 by two second coupling elements 60, respectively. The two second coupling elements 60 are each a second zipper and are disposed on two sides of the second covering board 40 and disposed at edges of the two side boards 20 except the lower edge thereof, respectively. The two sides of the second covering board 40 where the second zippers are disposed run along the third length L3.
Hence, after the second covering board 40 and the two side boards 20 have been erected, the second covering board 40 can be coupled to the two side boards 20 by means of the second zippers, respectively. With the third length L3 being larger than the sum of the first length L1 and the length of the first edge portion 11, the distal end of the second covering board 40 can come into contact with the distal end of the first covering board 30 or overlap the distal end of the first covering board 30.
The three-dimensional compartment box is formed, as soon as the two side boards 20, the first covering board 30, and the second covering board 40 are erected to become perpendicular to the rectangular board 10 and then coupled to each other by the two first coupling elements 50 and the two second coupling elements 60. The internal space of the compartment box thus formed holds objects intended by users. The first covering board 30 and the second covering board 40 are separably coupled together to provide a full-shield cover. A concealable opening is formed at the first covering board 30, such that the compartment box can be opened laterally to allow objects to be put into and taken out of the compartment box easily and conveniently.
