Claims
- 1. A ceramic body comprising a complex oxidation reaction product, wherein said complex oxidation reaction product comprises a perovskite or a perovskite of modified or altered structure, said perovskite comprising an oxide of at least one rare earth metal, an oxide of at least one alkaline earth metal and an oxide of aluminum, and inclusions of non-oxidized constituents of an aluminum parent metal source.
- 2. The ceramic body of claim 1, wherein said body defines at least one internal cavity.
- 3. The ceramic body of claim 2, wherein said body defines at least one internal cavity comprising at least one shape of a cylinder or a bar.
- 4. The ceramic composite body of claim 2, wherein said body further defines in said at least one internal cavity at least one of grooves, bores, recesses, lands, bosses, flanges, and screw threads.
- 5. The ceramic composite body of claim 3, wherein said body further defines in said at least one internal cavity at least one of grooves, bores, recesses, lands, bosses, flanges, and screw threads.
- 6. The ceramic composite body of claim 2, wherein said at least one internal cavity defines combinations of at least two of collars, bushings, and discs.
- 7. The ceramic composite body of claim 1, wherein said perovskite comprises interconnected perovskite.
- 8. The ceramic composite body of claim 1, comprising a shaped body having properties for use in electrical, wear, and structural applications.
- 9. The ceramic composite body of claim 1, wherein said ceramic composite body is substantially inhomogeneous.
- 10. The ceramic composite body of claim 1, wherein said ceramic composite body is substantially homogeneous.
- 11. The ceramic composite body of claim 1, wherein said ceramic composite body comprises a transformed product.
- 12. The ceramic composite body of claim 1, further comprising at least one inert filler.
- 13. The ceramic composite body of claim 12, wherein said at least one inert filler comprises at least one of particles, fibers, and whiskers.
- 14. The ceramic composite body of claim 12, wherein said at least one inert filler comprises at least one of silicon carbide and alumina.
- 15. The ceramic composite body of claim 13, wherein said at least one of particles, whiskers, and fibers comprises at least one of silicon carbide and alumina.
- 16. The ceramic composite body of claim 2, further comprising at least one inert filler.
- 17. The ceramic composite body of claim 16, wherein said at least one inert filler comprises at least one of particles, fibers, and whiskers.
- 18. The ceramic composite body of claim 16, wherein said at least one inert filler comprises at least one of silicon carbide and alumina.
- 19. The ceramic composite body of claim 16, wherein said at least one of particles, fibers and whiskers comprises at least one of silicon carbide and alumina.
