Claims
- 1. A method of image processing, comprising: binding indicia to a band of a page being image processed, the indicia for managing the band in a memory after composition of the page is complete and while the page is waiting to be video imaged.
- 2. The method of claim 1 wherein the memory is associated with an imaging device including a printer, copier, or facsimile device.
- 3. The method of claim 1 wherein the indicia includes at least one data element indicative of the band being safe for being managed in the memory without causing a problem when the band is video imaged.
- 4. The method of claim 1 wherein the indicia includes a data element indicative of a complexity of the band for being video imaged.
- 5. The method of claim 1 wherein the indicia includes a data element indicative of an incremental complexity of the band for being video imaged.
- 6. The method of claim 1 wherein the indicia includes a data element indicative of how much free time exists for video imaging the band.
- 7. The method of claim 1 wherein managing the band includes compressing the band or data associated with the band.
- 8. The method of claim 1 further including compressing the band or data associated with the band in the memory based on the indicia while the band is waiting to be video imaged.
- 9. The method of claim 1 further including compressing the band or data associated with the band in the memory based on indicia bound to at least one other band on the page.
- 10. The method of claim 9 wherein the indicia bound to the at least one other band is indicative of the at least one other band having free time available for being video imaged.
- 11. A computer-readable medium having computer-executable instructions for performing steps in the method recited in claim 1.
- 12. An imaging device comprising:
(a) an imaging engine operatively connected to a memory, the memory including a band of image data to be video imaged, the band being associated with a page being image processed; and, (b) means for binding indicia to the band for managing the band in the memory after composition of the page is complete and while the page is waiting to be video imaged.
- 13. The imaging device of claim 12 wherein the imaging device includes a printer, copier, or facsimile device.
- 14. The imaging device of claim 12 wherein the indicia includes at least one data element indicative of the band being safe for being managed in the memory without causing a problem when the band is video imaged.
- 15. The imaging device of claim 12 wherein the indicia includes a data element indicative of a complexity of the band for being video imaged.
- 16. The imaging device of claim 12 wherein the indicia includes a data element indicative of an incremental complexity of the band for being video imaged.
- 17. The imaging device of claim 12 wherein the indicia includes a data element indicative of how much free time exists for video imaging the band.
- 18. The imaging device of claim 12 wherein managing the band includes compressing the band or data associated with the band.
- 19. The imaging device of claim 12 further including means for managing the band in the memory based on the bound indicia after composition of the page is complete and while the page is waiting to be video imaged.
- 20. The imaging device of claim 19 wherein the means for managing the band includes means for compressing the band or data associated with the band in the memory.
- 21. The imaging device of claim 12 further including means for managing the band in the memory after composition of the page is complete and while the page is waiting to be video imaged based on indicia bound to at least one other band on the page.
- 22. The imaging device of claim 21 wherein the indicia bound to the at least one other band is indicative of the at least one other band having free time available for being video imaged.
