The above-identified invention involves the field of a component necktie system in general and specifically relates to a magnetic component necktie together with methods for use thereof.
The above-identified invention involves the field of component necktie systems in general and specifically relates to a magnetic component necktie together with methods for use thereof. According to the preferred embodiment of the device, the necktie comprises a slidable permanent neck knot insertable on the main tie body and further comprises a linkage means. The device further comprises interchangeable, outer tie portions as part of a magnetic necktie kit. According to the preferred embodiment of this invention, the linkage means is effected by a magnet means. According to an alternative embodiment of the invention, the interchangeable components further comprise matching fabric patterns, which may require fabric pattern rotation. Another embodiment of the invention further comprises a method for necktie component display and related packaging.
The present invention purports to have solved the long-standing problem of rapid necktie component deployment.
Necktie devices are well known in general and component necktie devices are well known in particular. Such devices facilitate the use of a wide variety of materials and fabrics.
Necktie devices as apparel accessories classically must be prepared and knotted each time they are worn, creating a time worn inconvenience and a variability in the wearer's ability to consistently reproduce the knot. Moreover, the retying of the tie wears the fabric in the area of the knot, reducing the life of the garment. Pre-knotted ties are well known in the art and consist of multiple approaches; primarily consisting of the (1) clip-on tie; and (2) the slidable zipper tie. The prior art generally describes a neck loop with a pre-knotted portion. Such prior art solutions fail to adequately address the problem. The clip-on ties are subject to instability and are of questionable style, while the slidable zipper ties are unstable and difficult.
Variable neckties are also known in the art. Moreover, component neckties are known in the art. However, nothing in the prior art provides a quick, simple, stable, long-lived, attractive means for a necktie capable of consistent, stylish, quick variation, without need for retying.
The present invention solves the problem of the prior art and provides distinct advantages over the prior art and solves numerous problems described and understood in the field.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a component necktie comprising (a) a necktie neck loop portion, the neck loop portion comprising a length of fabric, having a first end and a second end; (b) a knot portion, comprising a tied necktie knot having a front side; a back side; a top side; a bottom side; and a channel inserted within the knot, transmitted there through from the top side to the bottom side, the bottom side further comprising a receptor site; and (c) a main neck length portion, wherein the main neck length portion has a top end, a bottom end, a front face and a back face, the top end further comprising an insertion nub means capable of binding to the receptor site.
The present invention provides a component necktie comprising (a) a necktie neck loop portion, the neck loop portion comprising a length of fabric, having a first end and a second end; (b) a knot portion, comprising a tied necktie knot having a front side; a back side; a top side; a bottom side; and a channel inserted within the knot, transmitted there through from the top side to the bottom side, the bottom side further comprising a receptor site; and (c) a main neck length portion, wherein the main neck length portion has a top end, a bottom end, a front face and a back face, the top end further comprising an insertion nub capable of binding to the receptor site of the bottom side of the knot portion. According to an alternative embodiment of the present invention, the insertion nub is a depression in the top side of the main length portion, capable of receiving a corresponding receptor site protruding from the bottom side of the knot portion. According to still another alternative embodiment of the present invention, the insertion nub is flush with the top side of the main length portion and is capable of attaching to a corresponding receptor site flush with the bottom side of the knot portion. Such attachment may be achieved by numerous means such as by fasteners, attractors and attachment means. Such fasteners include snaps, clips, hooks, buttons, pins, and so-called “hook and loop” fasteners such as Velcro®. Attractors include magnets and the like. Attachment means includes any substance capable of reversibly attaching one component to another.
It is expressly understood that the necktie of the present invention is comprised from a non-rigid material. According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the material is fabric. Fabric may be cloth comprised of natural or synthetic fibers. It is further expressly understood that the fabric colors and patterns of the various elements of the present invention may be selected to be of matching colors and patterns. According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the main neck length insertion nub is magnetic. The insertion nub according to another embodiment of the present invention extends away from the top border of the main neck length insertion nub so as to be insertable into the receptor. According to another preferred embodiment of the present invention, the knot portion receptor site is magnetic. According to one embodiment of this invention, the main neck length insertion nub is comprised at least in part of a metallic material. Still further, according to another embodiment of the present invention, the knot portion receptor site is comprised at least in part of a metallic material. It is specifically contemplated that the materials of the knot portion receptor site are comprised of metal containing fibers according to still another embodiment of the present invention.
The present invention also provides a component necktie kit comprising: (a) plurality of necktie neck loop portions, each neck loop portion comprising a length of fabric, having a first end and a second end; (b) a plurality of knot portions, each knot portion comprising a tied necktie knot having a front side; a back side; a top side; a bottom side; and a channel inserted within the knot, transmitted there through from the top side to the bottom side, the bottom side further comprising a receptor site; and (c) a plurality of main neck length portions, wherein each main neck length portion has a top end, a bottom end, a front face and a back face, the top end further comprising an insertion nub means capable of binding to the receptor site.
According to a further embodiment of this invention, the main neck length insertion nub is magnetic. According to still a further embodiment of this invention, the knot portion receptor site is magnetic. Still further, according to another embodiment of this invention, the main neck length insertion nub is comprised at least in part of a metallic material. Further still, another embodiment of the present invention provides a component necktie kit, wherein the knot portion receptor site is comprised at least in part of a metallic material.
In addition, the present invention provides a component necktie hanging kit comprising: (a) the provided component necktie kit; and (b) a hanger capable of removably attaching a plurality of main neck length portions at the main neck length insertion nub.
The present invention also provides a component necktie kit case comprising: (a) a case having an inside and an outside; (b) a horizontal storage bar attached to the inside of the case, the horizontal storage bar capable of removably attaching a plurality of main neck length portions at the main neck length insertion nub; (c) a plurality of main neck length portion clips; and (d) a neck loop portion holder.
According to an embodiment of this invention, the case may be comprised of any material, rigid and non-rigid and must be of sufficient dimensions to store a plurality of the provided components. According to one embodiment of this invention, the case is closable. According to another embodiment, the case is sealable to protect the inside contents from the outside environment. According to a preferred embodiment, the main neck length portion clips are positioned at a distance from the horizontal storage bar so as to be capable of holding the main neck length portion stably under tension. According to this preferred embodiment, the horizontal storage bar is positioned at the top inside of the case and the main neck length portion clips are position at the bottom inside of the case so as to be capable of maintaining tension on the main neck length portion, thereby reducing the risk of creasing or wrinkling of the component fabric. The clips may be any device capable of maintaining the relative position of the main neck length portion. According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the horizontal bar is comprised of magnetic material. According to yet another preferred embodiment, the horizontal bar is comprised of metal. According to yet still another embodiment the present invention further comprises a main length portion tail holder means, capable of stably holding the second end of the neck loop portion to the inside of the case.
The present invention also provides a method of using the provided component necktie kit comprising the steps of: (a) detaching the main neck portion insertion nub from the receptor site of the knot portion; (b) selecting a second main neck portion from the kit; and (c) attaching the second main neck portion to the knot portion by inserting the main neck portion insertion nub.
