Claims
- 1. A disposable absorbent article having a longitudinal direction and a lateral direction, further comprising:
a discrete component, wherein the discrete component is part of the absorbent article; wherein the discrete component includes a material and the material has a Surface Topographic Variance value of at least 30 micrometers; wherein the material includes a printed block, the printed block being located in a longitudinal position on the discrete component and in a lateral position on the discrete component; and wherein the printed block has a Printed Block Sensor Value and the material has a Background Sensor Value at the same lateral position as the printed block and the ratio of the Printed Block Sensor Value to the Background Sensor Value is at least 3.25 to 1.
- 2. The disposable absorbent article of claim 1, wherein the printed block has a Printed Block Sensor Value of at least 650 and the material has a Background Sensor Value of about 200.
- 3. The disposable absorbent article of claim 1, wherein the printed block has a Printed Block Sensor Value of at least 950 and the material has a Background Sensor Value of about 200.
- 4. The disposable absorbent article of claim 1, wherein the printed block has a length in the longitudinal direction of the article of at least 3 millimeters.
- 5. The disposable absorbent article of claim 1, wherein the printed block has a length in the lateral direction of the article of at least 15 millimeters.
- 6. The disposable absorbent article of claim 1, wherein the material of the discrete component further includes a continuous detector material and a masking block.
- 7. The disposable absorbent article of claim 1, wherein the discrete component is an outer cover.
- 8. The disposable absorbent article of claim 1, wherein the discrete component is an attachment panel.
- 9. The disposable absorbent article of claim 8, wherein the attachment panel includes a pattern unbonded nonwoven material having a Surface Topographic Variance value of at least 200 micrometers.
- 10. The disposable absorbent article of claim 9, wherein the pattern unbonded nonwoven material has a basis weight of 1.0 to 2.5 ounces per square yard.
- 11. The disposable absorbent article of claim 1, wherein the discrete component includes a necked bonded laminate material having a Surface Topographic Variance value of at least 125 micrometers.
- 12. The disposable absorbent article of claim 1, wherein the material includes two or more printed blocks.
- 13. A disposable absorbent article having a longitudinal direction and a lateral direction, further comprising:
an outer cover, wherein the outer cover includes a nonwoven material and the nonwoven material has a Surface Topographic Variance value of at least 30 micrometers; wherein the nonwoven material includes a printed block, the printed block being located in a longitudinal position on the outer cover and in a lateral position on the outer cover; wherein the printed block has a Printed Block Sensor Value and the nonwoven material has a Background Sensor Value at the same lateral position as the printed block and the ratio of the Printed Block Sensor Value to the Background Sensor Value is at least 3.25 to 1; a bodyside liner; and an absorbent core located between the outer cover and the bodyside liner.
- 14. The disposable absorbent article of claim 13, wherein the nonwoven material includes a printed picture.
- 15. The disposable absorbent article of claim 13, wherein the printed block has a Printed Block Sensor Value of at least 650 and the nonwoven material has a Background Sensor Value of about 200.
- 16. The disposable absorbent article of claim 13, wherein the printed block has a Printed Block Sensor Value of at least 950 and the nonwoven material has a Background Sensor Value of about 200.
- 17. The disposable absorbent article of claim 13, wherein the printed block has a length in the longitudinal direction of the outer cover of at least 3 millimeters.
- 18. The disposable absorbent article of claim 13, wherein the printed block has a length in the lateral direction of the outer cover of at least 15 millimeters.
- 19. The disposable absorbent article of claim 13, wherein the nonwoven material of the outer cover further includes a continuous detector material and a masking block.
- 20. The disposable absorbent article of claim 19, wherein the continuous detector material is an optical brightener.
- 21. The disposable absorbent article of claim 20, wherein the optical brightener has a concentration of from 0.1% to 2.5% in the nonwoven material of the outer cover.
- 22. The disposable absorbent article of claim 19, wherein the masking block has a length in the longitudinal direction of the outer cover of at least 3 millimeters.
- 23. The disposable absorbent article of claim 19, wherein the masking block has a length in the lateral direction of the outer cover of at least 13 millimeters.
- 24. The disposable absorbent article of claim 19, wherein the masking block includes an opaque printed ink.
- 25. The disposable absorbent article of claim 13, wherein the nonwoven material includes two or more printed blocks.
- 26. A disposable absorbent article having a longitudinal direction and a lateral direction comprising:
an outer cover having a garment-facing surface; a bodyside liner; an absorbent core located between the outer cover and the bodyside liner; an attachment panel, wherein the attachment panel is located on the garment-facing surface of the outer cover; and wherein the attachment panel includes a nonwoven material and the nonwoven material has a Surface Topographic Variance value of at least 30 micrometers; wherein the nonwoven material includes a printed block, the printed block being located in a longitudinal position on the attachment panel and in a lateral position on the attachment panel; wherein the printed block has a Printed Block Sensor Value and the nonwoven material has a Background Sensor Value at the same lateral position as the printed block and the ratio of the Printed Block Sensor Value to the Background Sensor Value is at least 3.25 to 1.
- 27. The disposable absorbent article of claim 26, wherein the attachment panel includes a printed picture.
- 28. The disposable absorbent article of claim 26, wherein the nonwoven material has a Surface Topographic Variance value of at least 175 micrometers.
- 29. The disposable absorbent article of claim 26, wherein the nonwoven material is a pattern unbonded nonwoven material having a Surface Topographic Variance of at least 200 micrometers.
- 30. The disposable absorbent article of claim 26, wherein the printed block has a Printed Block Sensor Value of at least 650 and the nonwoven material has a Background Sensor Value of about 200.
- 31. The disposable absorbent article of claim 26, wherein the printed block has a Printed Block Sensor Value of at least 950 and the nonwoven material has a Background Sensor Value of about 200.
- 32. The disposable absorbent article of claim 26, wherein the printed block has a length in the longitudinal direction of the attachment panel of at least 3 millimeters.
- 33. The disposable absorbent article of claim 26, wherein the printed block has a length in the lateral direction of the attachment panel of at least 15 millimeters.
- 34. The disposable absorbent article of claim 26, wherein the nonwoven material of the attachment panel further includes a continuous detector material and a masking block.
- 35. The disposable absorbent article of claim 34, wherein the continuous detector material is an optical brightener.
- 36. The disposable absorbent article of claim 35, wherein the optical brightener has a concentration of from 0.1% to 2.5% in the nonwoven material of the attachment panel.
- 37. The disposable absorbent article of claim 34, wherein the masking block has a length in the longitudinal direction of the attachment panel of at least 3 millimeters.
- 38. The disposable absorbent article of claim 34, wherein the masking block has a length in the lateral direction of the attachment panel of at least 13 millimeters.
- 39. The disposable absorbent article of claim 34, wherein the masking block includes an opaque printed ink.
- 40. The disposable absorbent article of claim 26, wherein the nonwoven material includes two or more printed blocks.
- 41. A disposable absorbent article having a longitudinal direction and a lateral direction comprising:
an outer cover having a garment-facing surface; wherein the outer cover includes a nonwoven material and the nonwoven material has a Surface Topographic Variance value of at least 30 micrometers; wherein the nonwoven material includes an outer cover printed block, the outer cover printed block being located in a longitudinal position on the outer cover and in a lateral position on the outer cover; wherein the outer cover printed block has a Printed Block Sensor Value and the nonwoven material has a Background Sensor Value at the same lateral position as the outer cover printed block and the ratio of the Printed Block Sensor Value to the Background Sensor Value is at least 3.25 to; a bodyside liner; an absorbent core located between the outer cover and the bodyside liner; an attachment panel, wherein the attachment panel is located on the garment-facing surface of the outer cover; and wherein the attachment panel includes an attachment nonwoven material and the attachment nonwoven material has a Surface Topographic Variance value of at least 30 micrometers; wherein the attachment nonwoven material includes an attachment panel printed block, the attachment panel printed block being located in a longitudinal position on the attachment panel and in a lateral position on the attachment panel; wherein the attachment panel printed block has a Printed Block Sensor Value and the attachment nonwoven material has a Background Sensor Value at the same lateral position as the attachment panel printed block and the ratio of the Printed Block Sensor Value to the Background Sensor Value is at least 3.25 to 1.
