Claims
- 1. The method for stimulating plant growth which comprises contacting the plants to be treated with an effective amount of a substituted 2-chloroethyl phosphonamidic ester of the following formula: ##EQU16## wherein R is cycloalkyl of three to eight carbon atoms, R.sub.1 is hydrogen or cycloalkyl of three to eight carbon atoms and R.sub.2 is alkyl of one to seven carbon atoms or haloalkyl wherein alkyl contains one to seven carbon atoms, as active ingredient, in admixture with a suitable plant growth regulating carrier.
- 2. A method according to claim 1 which comprises utilizing said composition in an amount of from 1/2 to 10 pounds per acre of said ester.
- 3. A method according to claim 1 which comprises utilizing said composition in an amount of from 2 to 5 pounds per acre of said ester.
- 4. A method according to claim 2 which comprises utilizing said composition in from 50 to 1,000 gallons of water.
- 5. A method according to claim 1 for achieving flower induction or initiation which comprises contacting the plants in which the flowering is to be initiated with a plant growth stimulating amount of said substituted 2-chloroethyl phosphonamidic ester.
