Claims
- 1. A method for reducing an oxalate concentration comprising,
administering to a human or animal an effective amount of a composition comprising one or more oxalate-reducing enzymes wherein the amount is effective in reducing a portion of the oxalate present.
- 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the one or more oxalate-reducing enzymes are oxalate oxidase, oxalate decarboxylase, oxalyl-CoA decarboxylase, or formyl-CoA transferase, or combinations thereof.
- 3. The method of claim 1 wherein the one or more oxalate-reducing enzymes are derived from any source.
- 4. The method of claim 3, wherein the oxalate-reducing enzymes are produced recombinantly.
- 5. The method of claim 1, wherein the composition further comprises coenzymes, cofactors, substrates and other substituents of oxalate degradation pathways.
- 6. The method of claim 1, wherein the composition comprises an enteric coating.
- 7. The method of claim 1, wherein the administering is by oral routes of administration.
- 8. A method for treating an oxalate-related condition comprising, administering to a human or animal an effective amount of a composition, comprising one or more oxalate-reducing enzymes wherein the amount is effective in reducing a portion of the oxalate present in the human or animal.
- 9. The method of claim 8, wherein the one or more oxalate-reducing enzymes are oxalate oxidase, oxalate decarboxylase, oxalyl-CoA decarboxylase, or formyl-CoA transferase, or combinations thereof.
- 10. The method of claim 8, wherein the one or more oxalate-reducing enzymes are derived from any source.
- 11. The method of claim 10, wherein the oxalate-reducing enzymes are produced recombinantly.
- 12. The method of claim 8, wherein the composition comprises an enteric coating.
- 13. The method of claim 8, wherein the administering is by oral routes of administration.
- 14. The method of claim 8, wherein the composition further comprises coenzymes, cofactors, substrates and other substituents of oxalate degradation pathways.
- 15 The method of claim 8, wherein the composition is administered more than one time a day.
- 16. A method for preventing an oxalate-related condition comprising,
administering to a human or animal an effective amount of a composition comprising one or more oxalate-reducing enzymes wherein the amount is effective in reducing a portion of the oxalate present in the human or animal.
- 17. The method of claim 16, wherein the one or more oxalate-reducing enzymes are oxalate oxidase, oxalate decarboxylase, oxalyl-CoA decarboxylase, or formyl-CoA transferase, or combinations thereof.
- 18. The method of claim 16, wherein the one or more oxalate-reducing enzymes are derived from any source.
- 19. The method of claim 16, wherein the oxalate-reducing enzymes are produced recombinantly.
- 20. The method of claim 16, wherein the composition comprises an enteric coating.
- 21. The method of claim 16, wherein the administering is by oral routes of administration.
- 22. The method of claim 16, wherein the composition further comprises coenzymes, cofactors, substrates and other substituents of oxalate degradation pathways.
