The disclosure and prior art relates to leggings and more particularly pertains to a new legging for therapeutic compression to relieve pain, fatigue, and swelling.
An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a legging body having a right leg portion, a left leg portion, and a waist portion. The legging body being is elasticized and is configured to create a continuously skintight and snugly compressive fit on a user's body. The waist portion extends to above the user's waistline adjacent the user's navel. The right leg portion has a right foot section extending to adjacent the user's right toes and a right heel cutout to expose the user's right heel. The left leg portion has a left foot section extending to adjacent the user's left toes and a left heel cutout to expose the user's left heel. A waistband is coupled to the waist portion. The waistband is elasticized and configured to create a tighter fit around the user's waistline.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
As best illustrated in
A waistband 40 is coupled to the waist portion 18. The waistband 40 is elasticized and configured to create a tighter fit around the user's waistline to prevent the apparatus 10 from slipping over the user's buttocks 42 during exercise and activities. The waistband 40 has a waist hem 44 coupled around an upper perimeter 46 thereof. A plurality of reinforcement bands 48 is coupled to the right foot section 24 and the left foot section 32. The plurality of reinforcement bands 48 is coupled to the right foot section 24 adjacent a right distal end 50 thereof, around a perimeter of the right heel cutout 28, to the left foot section 32 around a left distal end 52 thereof, and around a perimeter of the left heel cutout 36. Each of the reinforcement bands 48 provides additional compression in areas where edema most frequently occurs and prevents slippage. The right foot section 24 and the left foot section 32 cover a significantly larger portion of a user's right foot 54 and a user's left foot 56, respectively, than a traditional stirrup strap to provide compression to the user's right foot 54 and the user's left foot 56. Each of the plurality of reinforcement bands 48 may have a pair of outer foot hems 58. Each of the outer foot hems 58 has a hem width 60 at least one-eighth of an overall width 62 of the reinforcement band.
In use, the apparatus 10 is worn like a traditional pair of leggings for everyday use, exercise, and other activites.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
