Description
BACKGROUND

Professionals across many industries are required to wear scrubs for their work, particularly within the healthcare industry. In the past scrubs were worn for primarily functionality, but in recent years there has been a trend towards prioritizing style, personal expression, and comfort, in addition to pure function. Additionally, healthcare professionals, including medical students, often work long hours and require comfortable attire to enhance their productivity. Current scrubs do not sufficiently meet these needs and are often uncomfortable when worn for extended stretches of time.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Aspects of the invention are disclosed in the following description and related drawings directed to specific embodiments of the invention. Alternate embodiments may be devised without departing from the spirit or the scope of the invention. Additionally, well-known elements of exemplary embodiments of the invention will not be described in detail or will be omitted so as not to obscure the relevant details of the invention. Further, to facilitate an understanding of the description discussion of several terms used herein follows.

As used herein, the word “exemplary” means “serving as an example, instance or illustration.” The embodiments described herein are not limiting, but rather are exemplary only. It should be understood that the described embodiments are not necessarily to be construed as preferred or advantageous over other embodiments. Moreover, the terms “embodiments of the invention”, “embodiments” or “invention” do not require that all embodiments of the invention include the discussed feature, advantage or mode of operation.

In one or more exemplary embodiments compression scrubs may be provided. Referring to FIG. 1 an exemplary compression scrub shirt 100 may be shown and described. The compression scrub shirt may be made of cotton, rayon, polyester, spandex, any other material known in the art, and/or a combination or blend of those materials. In some embodiments the compression scrub shirt 100 may have a v-neck collar 102. In other embodiments a different collar, for example a rounded collar, may be used instead. In some embodiments the compression scrub shirt 100 may further contain a tag 104, which may include information about the compression shirt 100, for example the materials, manufacturing, and/or care instructions. The compression shirt 100 may further include a loop 106, for example a fabric loop, which may be configured to have a badge or other identification clipped or otherwise connected to the loop 106.

The compression shirt 100 may further contain a left compression sleeve 118 and a right compression sleeve 120. The compression sleeves may be made of cotton, rayon, polyester, nylon, spandex, any other material known in the art, and/or a combination of those materials. In an exemplary embodiment the compression sleeves may be made of nylon and spandex. In some embodiments it may be understood that the compression sleeve may be designed to support specifics muscles, arteries, and joints. For example, the material composition may allow for support of the axillary artery, brachial artery, and bicep and tricep muscles and joints, through specific compression. Additionally, in some embodiments the compression sleeves may help with blood circulation through the arm and hands and/or too pull away moisture from the skin the help reduce energy needed to cool. In an embodiment it may be understood the compression may compress the sleeve so that the sleeve is a snug fit.

In an embodiment the compression sleeves may be attached to the compression scrub shirt 100 by, for example, a left shoulder connection 108 and a right shoulder connection 110, which may be, for example but not limited to, being sewn or stitched. In some embodiments the sleeves may be double stitched in order to increase strength, durability, and flexibility. In different embodiments different stitching may be used, for example a ⅝ inch seam may be used, and 10-12 stitching per inch may be used. In other embodiments a larger or smaller seem may be desired and used. The sleeve seam may extend from the natural shoulder seam provided in the shirt body or may be an additional seam above or below. In other embodiments the left shoulder connection 108 and right shoulder connection 110 may be a different connection for example an adhesive, or may be removably connected by a zipper, magnet, hook and loop connection, etc. The compression shirt 100 may have a left short sleeve 112 and a right short sleeve 114 which may be made of the same material as the body portion of the shirt. The compression sleeves 118 and 120 be under the short sleeves 112 and 114 and may extend out past the ends of the short sleeves 112 and 114 respectively. In some embodiments the pockets may be the same material composition as the rest of the shirt, in other embodiments a different material composition may be used. In some embodiments the compression shirt 100 may further have nested pockets, for example large front pockets 126 and 128, which may then have smaller front pockets 130 and 132 on top of them, or inside of them. The pockets may be sewn or stitched to the compression shirt 100, are may otherwise be adhered, e.g. glued stapled etc. It may be understood that in some embodiments not all the described pockets may be included, and/or additional pockets may be included, for example side or back pockets.

Referring to FIGS. 2A-3B, exemplary compression pants may be shown and described. FIG. 2A may show a front view and FIG. 2B may show a back view of a first exemplary compression pants 200. The compression pants 200 may be made of cotton, rayon, polyester, spandex, any other material known in the art, and/or a combination or blend of those materials The compression shorts may contain a waistband 202. The compression pants 200 may further contain one or more pockets, for example left pockets 206, 214, and 218, and right pockets 204 and 206. The pockets may be specially configured to hold a variety of medical or work tools, for examples scissors, pens, lights, stethoscopes, etc. In some embodiments one or more of the pockets may be doubled, for example pocket 214 may be within or on pocket 218. In some embodiments a motto 216, phrase, brand, or other words may be embroidered, stitched, or otherwise attached to the pants. In some embodiments the motto 216 may be embroidered on one of the pockets, for example pocket 218. The compression pants 200 may further have drawstrings 220, which may be elastic and may extend from the elastic waistband 202.

The compression pants 200 may further have a compression waistband 222 which may be, for example, sewn or stitched into or above the waist of the pants 200. The compression waistband 222 may further contain compression legging 210, which may extend from the waist of the pants downward to, for example, an ankle area. The compression pants 200 may further have one or more rear pockets 252 on the rear pant portion 250. In some embodiments it may be understood that the compression leggings may be designed to support specifics muscles, arteries, and joints. Additionally, in some embodiments the compression leggings may help with blood circulation through the legs and/or too pull away moisture from the skin the help reduce energy needed to cool. In an embodiment it may be understood the compression may compress the leggings so that the leggings are a snug fit.

Referring to FIGS. 3A-3B, a second pair of exemplary compression pants 300 may be shown. FIG. 3A may show a front view and FIG. 3B may show a back view of the second exemplary compression pants 300. In the second pair of exemplary compression pants, high waist compression leggings 310 may be sewn or otherwise attached to the waist of the pants. The compression leggings may extend down to a mid-thigh or knee area of the compression pants 300, and may terminate at or above the knee area or mid-thigh area.

It may be understood that the compression leggings and compression sleeves may be configured to improve blood flow and circulations and massage the arms and legs of a person wearing them. Additionally, in some embodiments, the compression waistband 222 may sit higher than the pants waist band 202. The placement of the compression waistband 222 may be understood to allow for additional coverage of the lower back and the upper buttocks, as well as any undergarments. This may both allow for support of the lower back and abdominal muscles, provide a slimming effect for the waist, stomach, and thighs, and/or may cover undergarments even while performing tasks that require stooping, bending, reaching, pulling, etc.

The foregoing description and accompanying figures illustrate the principles, preferred embodiments and modes of operation of the invention. However, the invention should not be construed as being limited to the particular embodiments discussed above. Additional variations of the embodiments discussed above will be appreciated by those skilled in the art.

Therefore, the above-described embodiments should be regarded as illustrative rather than restrictive. Accordingly, it should be appreciated that variations to those embodiments can be made by those skilled in the art without departing from the scope of the invention as defined by the following claims.
