Claims
- 1. A pocket-size communication computer comprising:a substantially rectangular frame forming a perimeter housing with a topside surface and a bottomside surface for mounting of finger controls, the topside surface and bottomside surface being interconnected by two opposed side surfaces; a display screen connected to the perimeter housing, the display screen having a rectangular configuration with a perimeter substantially equal to the perimeter of the housing wherein the display screen comprises a front surface of the computer; a plurality of computer circuit cards stacked within the perimeter housing; and, a back panel joined to the perimeter housing, the back panel having a perimeter substantially equal to the perimeter of the housing, wherein the back panel comprises a back surface of the computer; and a plurality of user operated finger controls ergonomically mounted on the substantially flat topside surface and bottomside surface of the frame around the perimeter housing for controlled operation of the communication computer wherein the finger controls include a cursor control on the topside surface of the frame.
- 2. The pocket-size communication computer of claim 1 wherein the finger controls include a selection switch control on the bottomside surface of the frame.
- 3. The pocket-size communication computer of claim 1 wherein the finger controls include tandem controls including a second cursor control spaced adjacent the cursor control on the topside surface of the frame and a pair of spaced adjacent selection switch controls on the bottomside surface of the frame.
- 4. The pocket-size communication computer of claim 3 including a pair of redundant selection switch controls, one mounted on one side of the screen proximate the topside surface adjacent the side surface and the other mounted on the other side of the screen proximate the topside surface adjacent the opposite side surface.
- 5. The pocket size communication computer of claim 4 wherein the finger controls include a pair of spaced cursor controls on the topside surface of the frame.
- 6. A pocket-size communication computer comprising:a substantially rectangular frame forming a perimeter housing with a topside surface and a bottomside surface, for mounting of finger controls, the topside surface and bottomside surface being interconnected by two opposed side surfaces; a display screen connected to the perimeter housing, the display screen having a rectangular configuration with a perimeter substantially equal to the perimeter of the housing wherein the display screen comprises a front surface of the computer; a plurality of modular computer circuit cards stacked within the perimeter housing; a back panel joined to the perimeter housing, the back panel having a perimeter substantially equal to the perimeter of the housing, wherein the back panel comprises a back surface of the computer; and, a plurality of ergonomic, user-operated, finger controls ergonomically mounted on the topside surface and bottomside surface of the frame around the perimeter housing for controlled operation of the communication computer by a user hand holding the communication computer wherein the finger controls include a pair of corner shoulder switches, one shoulder switch located on the topside surface at the interconnection of the topside surface and one of the opposed side surfaces and the other shoulder switch located on the topside surface at the interconnection of the topside surface and the other of the opposed side surfaces of the frame.
- 7. The pocket-size communication computer of claim 6 wherein the finger controls include a cursor control on the topside surface of the frame between the pair of corner shoulder switches.
- 8. The pocket-size communication computer of claim 7 wherein the finger controls include a selection switch control on the bottomside of the frame.
- 9. The pocket size communication computer of claim 7 wherein the finger controls include a pair of spaced selector switch controls on the bottomside surface of the frame.
- 10. The pocket-size communication computer of claim 8 wherein the finger controls include a second cursor control spaced adjacent the cursor control on the topside surface of the frame and a second selection switch control spaced adjacent the selection switch control on the bottomside of the frame.
- 11. A pocket-size communication computer comprising:a substantially rectangular frame forming a perimeter housing with a topside surface and a bottomside surface for mounting of finger controls, the topside surface and bottomside surface being interconnected by two opposed side surfaces; a display screen connected to the perimeter housing, the display screen having a rectangular configuration with a perimeter substantially equal to the perimeter of the housing wherein the display screen comprises a front surface of the computer; at least one computer circuit card contained within the perimeter housing; a back panel joined to the perimeter housing, the back panel having a perimeter substantially equal to the perimeter of the housing, wherein the back panel comprises a back surface of the computer; and a plurality of ergonomic, user-operated, finger controls mounted on the surface of the frame around the perimeter housing for controlled operation of the communication computer by a user hand holding the communication computer wherein the finger controls include a pair of selection switch controls, one mounted on one side of the screen proximate the topside surface adjacent the side surface and the other mounted on the other side of the screen proximate the topside surface adjacent the opposite side surface.
- 12. The pocket size communication computer of claim 11 wherein the finger controls include a cursor control on the topside surface of the frame.
