Claims
- 1. For use in locating one side of a precast reinforced concrete panel with respect to an adjacent surface,
- an interiorly threaded tubular member which is open at both ends,
- means on the member for securing it to longitudinally extending reinforcing strands within a bed in which the panel is to be cast so that the upper and lower ends of the member will be adjacent the opposite sides of the panel, when cast, and for spacing the member a predetermined lateral distance from an end of the bed and thus an end of the panel,
- a bolt adapted to be threadedly received in the member for axial extension from one end thereof into engagement with the surface in order to locate one side of the panel a desired distance from the surface.
- 2. As in claim 1, including
- a cap removably mountable on the other end of the member to close same.
- 3. As in claim 1, wherein
- said securing means includes arms on opposite sides of the member,
- one end of each arm having a finger shaped to wrap around a strand, and
- the other end of each arm having a finger which is bendable about an adjacent strand.
- 4. As in claim 1, wherein
- said securing means includes arms on opposite sides of the tubular member,
- one end of each arm having a semicircular ring for gripping a strand.
- 5. As in claim 1, wherein
- the member is spaced by gage rods extending laterally from the arms for engaging the end of the bed.
- 6. A panel comprising
- a body of precast concrete having longitudinally extending reinforcing strands embedded therein,
- a thread former comprising
- an interiorly threaded, open ended tubular member cast into the body and having open ends adjacent opposite sides of the panel,
- a bolt adapted to be threadedly received in the body for axial extension from one end of the body in order to engage and threrby locate one side of the body a desired distance from a support surface, and
- means on the member securing it to adjacent strands in a bed in which the body is cast so that the upper and lower ends of the member will be adjacent the opposite sides of the panel, when cast, and for spacing the member a predetermined lateral distance from an end of the bed and thus an end of the panel.
- 7. As in claim 6, including
- a cap removably mountable on the other end of the member to close same.
- 8. As in claim 6, wherein
- said securing means includes arms on opposite sides of the member,
- one end of each arm having a finger shaped to rest on a strand, and
- the other end of each arm having a finger which is bendable about an adjacent strand.
- 9. As in claim 6, wherein
- said securing means includes arms on opposite sides of the tubular member,
- one end of each arm having a semicircular ring for gripping a strand.
- 10. As in claim 6, wherein
- the member is spaced by gage rods extending laterally from the arms for engaging the end of the bed.
