Claims
- 1. A condom comprising:
a body having a wall, a closed end, an open end and a curved region, the wall including an interior surface and an exterior surface; and a textured portion disposed on the exterior surface of the body within the curved region, the textured portion being operable to increase the sensation transmitted by the condom during use.
- 2. The condom of claim 1, wherein the curved region is positioned proximate the closed end of the body.
- 3. The condom of claim 1, wherein the curved region is positioned equidistant from the open end and the closed end of the body.
- 4. The condom of claim 1, wherein the textured portion includes a plurality of ridges.
- 5. A condom comprising:
a body having a wall, a closed end, and an open end, the wall including an interior surface and an exterior surface; and a textured portion disposed on the exterior surface of the body which is operable to increase the sensation transmitted by the condom during use, the textured portion including a having a long sloped surface and a short sloped surface, the sloped surface being joined at an apex, an inside angle of the apex between the sloped surfaces being between 0 and 90 degrees and the outside angle of the protrusion formed at the intersection between the short-sloped surface and the exterior surface being between 0 and 90 degrees.
- 6. The condom of claim 5, wherein the protrusion extends circumferentially around the body.
- 7. The condom of claim 5, wherein the protrusion is filled with a material.
- 8. The condom of claim 7, wherein the material is a fluid.
- 9. The condom of claim 8, is taken from the group consisting of a gel and a saline solution.
- 10. The condom of claim 7, wherein the material is taken from the group consisting of a polymer, a foam and a sponge.
- 11. The condom of claim 8, wherein the material is taken from the group consisting of a gel and saline solution.
- 12. The condom of claim 5, where the protrusion is reversible.
- 13. The condom of claim 5, where the body has a longitudinal axis and the protrusion extends inwardly relative to the longitudinal axis.
- 14. The condom of claim 5, where the body has a longitudinal axis and the protrusion extends outwardly relative to the longitudinal axis.
- 15. The condom of claim 5, further comprising an insert, the insert being positioned in and engaging the interior surface of the body to provide support for the protrusion.
- 16. The condom of claim 15, wherein the insert has a shape selected from the group consisting of a circle, an oval, a square and a rectangle.
- 17. The condom of claim 15, wherein the insert having a diameter in a range between {fraction (1/64)} inch and 4 inches and a width in a range between {fraction (1/64)} and 4 inches.
- 18. A condom comprising:
a body having a wall, a closed end, and an open end, the wall including an interior surface and an exterior surface; and a retention device positioned within an interior of the body proximate the closed end and being operable to expand during use of the condom, the device having an initial unexpanded shape that is equal to or less than a diameter of the interior of the body.
- 19. The condom of claim 18, wherein the retention device comprises a sponge.
- 20. The condom of claim 18, wherein the retention device comprises a film, the film being operable to disintegrate during use of the condom.
