Claims
- 1. A conductive polymer which consists essentially of a polymer matrix or a polymer substrate and poly(3-substituted thiophene) in molten state wherein said poly(3-substituted thiophene) is internally doped with an electron acceptor.
- 2. A polymer composite according to claim 1, consisting essentially of a polymer matrix and poly(3-substituted thiophene) which have together been formed into a homogenous composite in molten state and then doped with an electron acceptor.
- 3. A polymer composite according to claim 2, wherein the electron acceptor, is FeCl.sub.3.
- 4. A polymer composite according to claim 2 or 3, wherein the poly(3-substituted thiophene) is present in an amount of 0.1-50% by weight.
- 5. A polymer composite claim 1 having a conductivity within the range 10.sup.-10 -100 s/cm.
- 6. A polymer composite according to claim 1 which is molded in a molten state.
- 7. A polymer composite according to claim 1 wherein the composite is a powder, granulate, film, or fiber.
- 8. Plastic composite consisting essentially of a polymer substrate and poly(3-substituted thiophene wherein said poly(3-substituted thiophene) is doped with an electron acceptor and molded in molten state onto the surface of said substrate.
- 9. A composite according to claim 8 wherein the electron acceptor, is iodine.
- 10. A composite according to claim 8 or 9, having a conductivity within the range 10.sup.-10 -100 s/cm.
