Claims
- 1. A telephony device connected to a telephone line which supports multiple different telephone signal protocols, comprising:
a termination impedance circuit that provides a termination impedance of the device, wherein the impedance is selectable depending on the protocol being supported.
- 2. The telephony device claimed in claim 1 wherein the circuit includes at least first and second impedance elements and a switch network which selects different combinations of the impedance elements depending on the protocol being supported.
- 3. The telephony device claimed in claim 2 further including a blocking capacitor connected in series with the first impedance element.
- 4. A device comprising:
a termination impedance circuit, coupled to a communication link, that provides a termination impedance of the device, wherein the impedance is selectable.
- 5. The device of claim 4 wherein the communication link supports a plurality of signal protocols, and the termination impedance circuit that provides a termination impedance of the device, wherein the impedance is selectable depending on the protocol being supported.
- 6. The device of claim 5 wherein the circuit includes at least first and second impedance elements and a switch network which selects different combinations of the impedance elements depending on the protocol being supported.
- 7. The device of claim 7 further including a blocking capacitor connected in series with the first impedance element.
- 8. A device comprising:
an echo-cancel hybrid circuit, coupled to a communication link, that provides an echo cancel characteristic, wherein the characteristic is selectable.
- 9. The device of claim 8 wherein the echo-cancel hybrid circuit comprises:
a multiplexer; and a plurality of echo-cancel hybrids coupled to the multiplexer.
- 10. The device of claim 8 wherein the communication link supports multiple different signal protocols.
- 11. The device of claim 9 wherein characteristic is selectable depending on at least one protocol being supported.
- 12. The device of claim 8 wherein the communication link comprises a phone line.
- 13. The device of claim 9 wherein the communication link supports multiple different signal protocols.
- 14. The device of claim 13 wherein characteristic is selectable depending on at least one protocol being supported.
- 15. The device of claim 9 wherein the communication link comprises a phone line. into an output data stream which may be coupled to the communication link.
