Claims
- 1. A dynamic balancing machine for supporting a workpiece having a conical mounting surface, the dynamic balancing machine comprising:
- an unbalance measuring arrangement for producing an electrical measurement signal responsive to an unbalance in the workpiece;
- a support for supporting the workpiece rotatively in a determined axial position, said support communicating with the conical mounting surface of the workpiece; and
- a drive for rotating the workpiece at a predetermined balancing speed.
- 2. The dynamic balancing machine of claim 1, wherein said support comprises a plurality of roller support elements arranged to communicate with the conical mounting surface of the workpiece.
- 3. The dynamic balancing machine of claim 2, wherein said plurality of roller elements are arranged circumferentially equidistant around the workpiece.
- 4. The dynamic balancing machine of claim 2, wherein said plurality of roller support elements are arranged axially equidistant with respect to a central axis of the workpiece so as to communicate with the conical mounting surface of the workpiece at a first axial location therealong.
- 5. The dynamic balancing machine of claim 4, wherein there is provided a further plurality of roller support elements arranged axially equidistant with respect to a central axis of the workpiece so as to communicate with the conical mounting surface of the workpiece at a second axial location therealong.
- 6. The dynamic balancing machine of claim 5, wherein each of said further plurality of roller support elements is arranged coaxially with a correspondingly associated one of said plurality of roller support elements.
- 7. The dynamic balancing machine of claim 6, wherein said plurality and further plurality of roller support elements are rotated at different speeds from each other and the workpiece.
- 8. The dynamic balancing machine of claim 7, wherein said plurality and further plurality of roller support elements have the same diameter.
- 9. The dynamic balancing machine of claim 6, wherein at least one of said coaxially arranged roller support elements from respective ones of said plurality and further plurality of roller support elements are coaxially movable to effect adjustment for enhancing communication between said plurality and further plurality of roller support elements with the workpiece.
- 10. The dynamic balancing machine of claim 9, wherein said plurality and further plurality of roller support elements each comprise three roller support elements arranged equidistantly 120.degree. apart about the workpiece.
- 11. The dynamic balancing machine of claim 1, wherein said drive is coupled to said support, said support being driven rotatively at a speed that is different from the predetermined balancing speed.
- 12. The dynamic balancing machine of claim 1, wherein there is further provided a detector arranged in the vicinity of the workpiece for detecting a reference position thereon.
- 13. The dynamic balancing machine of claim 12, wherein said detector comprises a photoelectric detector for detecting a rotative reference position on the workpiece.
- 14. The dynamic balancing machine of claim 12, wherein there is further provided a processor coupled to said detector for producing a speed signal responsive to a rate of rotation of the workpiece.
- 15. The dynamic balancing machine of claim 12, wherein there is further provided a processor coupled to said detector for producing an unbalance location signal responsive to a location of a residual unbalance of the workpiece, with respect to the reference position.
- 16. The dynamic balancing machine of claim 12, wherein said detector comprises a piezoelectric element fixed in the vicinity of the workpiece for measuring an unbalance force in a plane transverse to the axis of rotation of the workpiece.
- 17. The dynamic balancing machine of claim 16, wherein there is provided a further piezoelectric element fixed in the vicinity of the workpiece for measuring an unbalance force in a further plane transverse to the axis of rotation of the workpiece.
- 18. The dynamic balancing machine of claim 1, wherein the workpiece is an ISO standard tooling for a machining system, the conical mounting surface being used to center the ISO standard tooling in the machining system.
- 19. The dynamic balancing machine of claim 1, wherein said support comprises a plurality of conical roller support elements arranged to communicate with the conical mounting surface of the workpiece.
- 20. The dynamic balancing machine of claim 1, wherein said support comprises a non-rotating guide pad element arranged to communicate with the conical mounting surface of the workpiece.
- 21. The dynamic balancing machine of claim 1, wherein said support comprises an air bearing element arranged in the vicinity of the conical mounting surface of the workpiece.
