Claims
- 1. A connector comprising a straight or bent tubular member of which sectional shape is one of a circle, an ellipse or a polygon, said tubular member further comprising an end surface with a projection composed of a projecting ridge extending therefrom in an axial direction, said tubular member further defining a hollow passage and comprising an exterior circumferential side wall having a length wherein the majority of said length of said side wall is solid and without perforations so that all of a liquid adhesive introduced to said tubular member at a first end will flow to the opposite end of said tubular member, and further comprising a branch pipe fixed to a hole punched at a predetermined longitudinal part of said exterior circumferential side wall of said tubular member and connects up to said hollow passage of said tubular member and where said hollow passage is closed at a first axial end and open at a second axial end.
- 2. The connector as recited in claim 1 wherein said hollow passage is substantially shorter than said connector.
- 3. A method for connecting structural members comprising a first step of punching each of a pair of holes forming connecting holes having circumferential walls, said holes and the connector as set forth in claim 1 defining a space slightly larger than the diameter of a main body of said connector, said holes formed through predetermined parts of a plurality of structural members abutting one another, said structural members composed of laminated wood or wood or stone or concrete, a second step of cutting and forming a groove for installing said branch pipe on an abutting surface of at least one structural member, a third step of inserting said main body of said connector into said connecting holes punched at said first step, a fourth step of installing the branch pipe in said groove and installing said connector having said branch pipe in said connecting holes between said structural members and abutting each of said structural members, a fifth step of feeding adhesive agent at an opening at an end part of said branch pipe, whereby said adhesive agent flows from one or a plurality of ends of said hollow passage of said connector and filling said adhesive agent at least in said space between the exterior surface of said connector and said circumferential walls of said connecting holes.
- 4. A connecting member comprising a tubular elongate member and a tubular branch member radially extending from said elongate member, said tubular branch member having a proximal end having a proximal opening intersecting said elongate member and a distal end, said elongate member having a first opening at a first end of said elongate member and a second opening at a medial location on said elongate member with respect to the length of said elongate member, said first end comprising an axially extending projection which allows for the flow of adhesive in a radial direction, said second opening communicating with said proximal opening of said tubular branch member, said tubular elongate member and said tubular branch member thereby forming a hollow passage from the first opening of said elongate member to the distal end of said branch member and said hollow passage having a substantially uniform diameter and said hollow passage having smooth sidewalls.
- 5. The connecting member as disclosed in claim 4 wherein said first end further comprises at least two axially extending projections and said projections form a groove.
- 6. A connection between solid structural members comprising the connecting member as recited in claim 4, a pair of solid structural members, said solid structural members having opposite abutting surfaces having opposite bore holes in said abutting surfaces to receive said connecting member, a groove radially oriented with respect to one said bore hole formed in one of said abutting surfaces of said structural members which connects said bore hole to a non-abutting surface and receives said branch member.
- 7. A connection as recited in claim 6 wherein a first structural member is made of concrete and a second structural member is made of wood.
- 8. A connection structure between two solid members comprising the connecting member as recited in claim 6 further comprising a plug provided in a portion of said groove.
- 9. A connection as recited in claim 8 further comprising a plurality of said connecting members.
- 10. A method of connecting a first solid structural member to a second solid structural member comprising boring opposite holes, a first hole in said first solid structural member and a second hole in said second solid structural member, providing a groove connecting said second hole to a non-abutting surface of said second solid structural member, affixing the connecting member as recited in claim 4 in said first hole, positioning said second structural member so that said tubular branch member is received in said groove and abutting said first and second solid structural members together so that said first and second holes align opposite one another, filling said hollow passage in said tubular branch member with adhesive so that said adhesive flows through said tubular branch member and then through said elongate member and then out said first opening at the end of said elongate member.
- 11. The method disclosed in claim 10 further comprising continuing to introduce said adhesive to said connecting member thereby causing said adhesive to flow into a space defined by the exterior walls of said connecting member and the walls of said second hole and then allowing said adhesive to flow into said groove toward said non-abutting surface.
