1. Field of the Invention
This invention relates to a constrictive band, particularly to one easy to handle and possible to be used repeatedly.
2. Description of the Prior Art
Conventional constrictive bands are widely used in our daily life for constricting things stably, often used for positioning tubes or binding linear matters to be stored.
A Taiwan patent of No. 285970 disclosed “Constrictive Band”, another Taiwan patent disclosed “Constrictive Band used in a Constrictive Gun”, and another Taiwan patent disclosed “Stationary Line constrictive band”. However, those three articles are not so ideally structured, needing improvement for its handling and usable durability.
This invention has been devised to offer a constrictive band easily handled for constricting something in a circle formed by the constrictive band and possible to be used repeatedly for a long time.
The features of the invention are a band body and a positioning member detachably combined together. The band body is elongate and flat, provided with ratchet teeth on one or two longitudinal sides. The positioning member is an empty block and combined integral with one end of the band body, having a center insert hole for the band body to insert though and a band fixing unit respectively formed on an inner wall of two longitudinal sides. The band fixing unit is composed of two plate members, two elastic strips extending along two inner sides of the insert hole, a ring pushing and keeping the elastic strips positioned in place, an anti-retreat claw formed on an inner surface of the elastic strips to engage with the ratchet teeth for fixing the band body stably and immovable at one of many locations relative to the positioning member for forming a circle of various sizes to constrict something tightly therein.
This invention will be better understood by referring to the accompanying drawings, wherein:
A constrictive band 1 in the present invention, as shown in
The band body 11 is a long flat strip, having a plurality of ratchet teeth 111 formed on one or two longitudinal sides, and a free end with a guide (tapered) angle 112 for easy inserting.
The positioning member 12 is an empty mass, having a through insert hole 120 in its center and a band fixing unit 121 respectively formed in an inner wall of the two longitudinal sides, and a reinforcing rib 124 formed on the surface of the longitudinal side for strengthening a combining point where the end of the band body 11 is combined integral with the positioning member.
Next, as shown in
Each fixing unit 121 is composed of a plate member 1211, an elastic strip 1213, a ring 1214, and an anti-retreat stopper 1215. Further, a groove 1212 is formed at two sides of the insert hole 120 in the plate member 1212, located lengthwise and parallel to each other. The elastic strip 1213 is elongate and located to extend along the insert hole 120 from the bottom of an inner wall of the plate member 1211 out of the insert hole of the positioning member 12. The ring 1214 is located in the insert hole 120, of the positioning member 12, pushing and keeping the elastic strips 1213 in place. The anti-retreat claw 1215 projects inward from the inner surface of each elastic strip 1213, engaging with the ratchet teeth 111 of the band body 11 after the band body 11 is inserted through the insert hole 120 so that the band body 11 can only move in, but cannot retreat by means of function of the anti-retreat claw 1215. Thus the band body 11 is impossible to loosen off the positioning member 12 after inserted and positioned therein.
Furthermore, an auxiliary horizontal positioning block 122 can be added at an upper side and a lower side in the insert hole 120, and a vertical positioning block 123 can be added at the right and the left side in the insert hole 120 to limit the band body 11 to move in the special space surrounded by the two horizontal blocks 122 and the two vertical blocks 123 in the insert hole 120 of the positioning member 12, so that the band body 11 may not loosen, bias or wrongly be positioned in the insert hole 120.
Next,
When the band body 11 in a constricted condition is to be loosened from the positioning member 12, as shown in
In addition, a plurality of the constrictive bands 1 can be connected together as shown in
This invention has the following advantages, as can be seen from the foresaid description.
1. Easy constriction and loosening of the band body: as the band body has the ratchet teeth and the positioning member has the band fixing units, the band body is easily inserted through the insert hole and kept stably and immovable by engagement of the ratchet teeth with the band fixing units at one of many locations; when the constricted band body is to be loosened off, only compressing the plate members can disengage the claws of the band fixing units from the ratchet teeth to permit the band body to be pulled and freed out of the positioning member, very convenient to use.
2. Repeatable use: This constrictive band can be used many times for a long time, by the band body possible to be assembled with and disassembled from the positioning members.
While the invention has been described above, it will be recognized and understood that various modifications may be made therein and the appended claims are intended to cover all such modifications that may fall within the spirit and scope of the invention.
