- wherein the first puzzle piece further comprises an outer side edge opposite the first joint, and wherein the first puzzle piece is positioned adjacent the second short edge of the aperture of the second puzzle piece, and the bottom edge of the first joint of the first puzzle piece is positioned adjacent the ridge, when the first joint of the first puzzle piece is connected to the aperture of the second puzzle piece.
- 3. The object of claim 2, wherein the aperture comprises a space defined by the first and second long edges, the first short edge, and the ridge, and wherein the first joint has an enlarged end adjacent the first inner side edge and extending inwardly toward the mortise, with the enlarged end of the first joint fitted inside the space when the first joint of the first puzzle piece is connected to the aperture of the second puzzle piece.
- 4. An object assembled by interconnecting a plurality of puzzle pieces, the object comprising:
- a first puzzle piece comprising a first joint having a substantially U-shaped mortise defined by a bottom edge, and first and second inner side edges extending from the bottom edge;
- a second puzzle piece comprising an aperture, the aperture comprising first and second long edges, first and second short edges connected by the first and second long edges, and a ridge positioned along the first long edge extending inwardly towards the aperture; and
- wherein the first puzzle piece is disposed transverse to the second puzzle piece when the first joint of the first puzzle piece is connected to the aperture of the second puzzle piece.
- 5. The object of claim 4, wherein the first joint further includes a ridge adjacent the first inner side edge, opposite the bottom edge, and extending inwardly toward the mortise.
- 6. The object of claim 5, wherein the ridges are substantially bulbous in shape.
- 7. The object of claim 5, wherein each of the ridges comprises three sides, a first side and a second side extending from the first long edge, and a third side connecting the first and second sides.
- 8. The object of claim 4, wherein the ridge of the second puzzle piece acts as a stop mechanism to retain the first joint of the first puzzle piece in the aperture of the second puzzle piece.
- 9. The object of claim 5, wherein the second puzzle piece has a side edge, and wherein the ridge of the first puzzle piece engages the side edge of the second puzzle piece when the first joint of the first puzzle piece is connected to the aperture of the second puzzle piece.
- 10. An object assembled by interconnecting a plurality of puzzle pieces, the object comprising:
- a first puzzle piece comprising a first joint having a substantially U-shaped mortise defined by a bottom edge, and first and second inner side edges extending from the bottom edge; and
- a second puzzle piece comprising an aperture, the aperture comprising first and second long edges, first and second short edges connected by the first and second long edges, and a ridge positioned along the first long edge extending inwardly towards the aperture, the ridge acting as a stop mechanism to retain the first joint of the first puzzle piece in the aperture of the second puzzle piece.
- 11. The object of claim 10, wherein the first joint of the first puzzle piece further comprises a leg defined in part by the first inner side edge, the first joint comprising an enlarged end adjacent the first inner side edge and extending inwardly toward the mortise.
- 12. The object of claim 10, wherein the first puzzle piece is disposed transverse to the second puzzle piece when the first joint of the first puzzle piece is connected to the aperture of the second puzzle piece.
- 13. The object of claim 10, wherein the ridges are substantially bulbous in shape.
- 14. The object of claim 10, wherein the ridge comprises three sides, a first side and a second side extending from the first long edge, and a third side connecting the first and second sides.
- 15. The object of claim 11, wherein the second puzzle piece has a side edge, and wherein the enlarged end of the first puzzle piece engages the side edge of the second puzzle piece when the first joint of the first puzzle piece is connected to the aperture of the second puzzle piece.
- 16. An object assembled by interconnecting a plurality of puzzle pieces, the object comprising:
- a first puzzle piece comprising a first joint having a substantially U-shaped mortise defined by a bottom edge, first and second inner side edges extending from the bottom edge, and an enlarged end adjacent the first inner side edge, opposite the bottom edge, and extending inwardly toward the mortise; and
- a second puzzle piece comprising an aperture, the aperture comprising first and second long edges, first and second short edges connected by the first and second long edges, wherein the first joint of the first puzzle piece is retained in the aperture of the second puzzle piece.
