Abstract

An organizer that has a cover that retains therein a removable leather tray, a removable cigarette holder, and a removable storage box. The cover has embedded magnets to removably retain the leather tray, the cigarette holder and the storage box to allow a user to remove each from the cover.

Description

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to the field of organizers, and more specifically, to organizers for various smoking-related articles.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

An organizer is a well-known personal article, which is usually used to carry personal information such as a personal phone book, business cards, a calendar for appointments and so on.

A typical organizer includes a cover that resembles a book cover, and is comprised of a spine that is connected to a first side panel by a living hinge and a second side panel by another living hinge. The personal items may be stored interiorly of the cover. The interior of the cover may include fixed pockets and so on for storage of items. The panels and the spine of a cover of a typical organizer may be constructed from multiple layers. The exterior most layer may be made of leather (for example), a middle layer may be made of a relatively rigid material for structural stiffness, and the interior thereof may be made of a suitable lining.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

A magnetic body as used herein means a magnet that can be magnetically coupled to another magnet or a body made of a material that can be magnetically coupled to a magnet in order to realize magnetic coupling (for example, iron or steel). In the figures, the magnetic bodies are shown as circles drawn with broken lines surrounding either the positive polarity symbol (+) or the negative polarity symbol (−). The broken lines indicate that the magnetic body is hidden from view under, for example, an interior lining or an exterior cover.

The present invention is an organizer with magnetically retained smoking-related storage parts for storing articles such as a book of rolling papers, tobacco, a grinding card having varies tools, etc.

An organizer according to the present invention includes a cover having a spine, a first panel connected to an edge of the spine, a second panel connected to another edge of the spine, and at least one removable storage detachably attachable to an interior surface of the cover.

The least one removable storage may be a leather tray, with a foldable funnel, or an insertable and extractable funnel that is insertable into and extractable from a pocket defined in the leather tray. The leather tray may include at least one integrated magnetic body that is magnetically attachable to a magnetic body integrated with the cover.

The least one removable storage may be a removable box that includes a spine, a first panel connected movably to an edge of the spine and a second panel connected movably to another edge of the spine, whereby the box may be converted from a closed state to an open state, and from an open state to a closed state. The box may include at least one integrated magnetic body that is magnetically attachable to a magnetic body integrated with the cover.

The at least one removable storage may be a cigarette holder that includes at least one integrated magnetic body that is magnetically attachable to a magnetic body integrated with the cover.

An organizer according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention includes:

a cover having a spine, a first panel movably connected to an edge of the spine with a living hinge, a second panel movably connected to another edge of the spine with a living hinge;

a first removable storage detachably attachable to an interior surface of the spine;

a second removable storage detachably attachable to an interior surface of the first panel; and

a third removable storage detachably attachable to an interior surface of the second panel.

The first removable storage may be a cigarette holder, the second removable storage may be a leather tray, and the third removable storage may be a box.

Each removable storage may include at least one integrated magnetic body that can magnetically couple to an integrated magnetic body integrated with the cover.

The leather tray may further include a funnel.

In one embodiment, the funnel may be foldable into an extended state or a folded state.

In another embodiment, the funnel can be inserted into and extracted from a pocket defined in the leather tray.

The removable storages may be arranged so that the first removable storage faces a side of the second removable storage, and a side of the third removable storage, while the second removable storage and the third removable storage face one another when the cover is in a closed state.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION

Although specific embodiments of the present invention will now be described with reference to the drawings, it should be understood that such embodiments are by way of example only and merely illustrative of but a small number of the many possible specific embodiments which can represent applications of the principles of the present invention. Various changes and modifications obvious to one skilled in the art to which the present invention pertains are deemed to be within the spirit, scope and contemplation of the present invention.

Referring to FIG. 1, there is illustrated a front perspective view of an organizer 10 for retaining smoking accouterments in the closed unlatched state having a cover 9 with a front surface 14, and a retention sleeve 12 affixed to the front surface 14. The retention sleeve 12 has an opening 15 sized to receive a strap or a latch 16 for closing the cover 9. It should be understood that the strap or the latch 16 can be affixed within the retention sleeve 12 by a retention member 18 with the retention member 18 being, for example, magnets, hook and loop fasteners, frame, prong and hole assembly (belt closure), or other similarly known methods.

Referring to FIG. 2, there is illustrated a rear perspective view of the organizer 10 further illustrating strap 16 being affixed to the back 17.

Referring to FIG. 3A, there is illustrated a front perspective view of the organizer 10 in the open state further illustrating three distinct storage parts, namely, a leather tray 100, a cigarette holder 200, and a box 300. It should be understood that each of the storage parts is removably attachable to the interior surface of the cover 9 of the organizer 10 by, for examples, magnetic bodies (150, 250, and 350 in FIG. 3B).

Referring to FIG. 3B, there is illustrated a schematic of the cover 9 of the organizer 10 of the present invention. The cover 9 is a unitary, flat body having a spine section 11, a first side panel 13, and a second side panel 15.

The first side panel 13 may have at least one but preferably two integrated magnetic bodies 150 (for example, residing in a fixed manner under an interior lining), the second side panel 15 may have at least one but preferably two integrated magnetic bodies 350 (for example, residing in a fixed manner under an interior lining), and the spine section 11 may have at least one but preferably two integrated magnetic bodies 250 (for example, residing in a fixed manner under an interior lining).

The spine section 11 is connected to the first side panel 13 by a living hinge 17 and the second side section by another living hinge 17, which allow the two side panels to be moved toward one another. As seen in FIG. 3C, when the cigarette holder 200 is magnetically coupled to the interior surface of the spine section 11, and the container 10 is in a closed state, the front of the cigarette holder 200 faces the sides of the leather tray 100 and the box 300, while the leather tray 100 and the box 300 face one another.

Referring to FIG. 4, there is illustrated a front perspective view of the leather tray 100 (in a closed state) detached and removed from the interior surface of the cover 9. The leather tray 100 includes slip pockets 102 on the front surface 104 thereof. Each slip pocket 102 may be configured to receive a flat item such as a card, a book of rolling papers, etc. As seen in FIG. 4, the front most slip pocket 102 includes a slot 103 through which rolling paper may be extracted when a book of rolling papers is inserted in the front most slip pocket 102 like extracting tissue paper from a box of tissue papers.

Referring to FIG. 5A, there is illustrated the leather tray 100 detached and removed from cover 9 and in a partially open state illustrating an interior chamber 108 and a compartment 110 defined with walls 112 extending along at least three side of a bottom panel 109 that is connected to a spine 111 by a living hinge 117. The spine 111 is connected to a top panel 113 by another living hinge 117. The slip pockets 102 reside on the exterior surface of the top panel 113.

The bottom panel 109 may have an integrated magnet, integrated magnets or an integrated magnetic body (e.g. a piece of steel), for example, embedded under its exterior cover.

Referring to FIGS. 5B, 5C, and 5D, instead of an integrated flexible funnel, the leather tray 100 may include a pocket 114 defined behind the spine 111 to receive a (for example, metal) funnel 116. The funnel 116 is configured so that it may be inserted into and extracted from the pocket 114 but cannot be removed from the pocket 114 because of stops 118 that are wider than the opening leading into the pocket 114 through which the funnel receptacle portion 116′ of the funnel 116 passes. An elongated tail 120 may extend from the stops 118. The elongated tail 120 may be made long enough to abut the end of the pocket 114 to prevent the funnel receptacle portion 116′ of the funnel 116 from sinking too far into the pocket 114 and become inaccessible to the user. A portion of a least the spine 111 may be recessed from the edges of the top panel 109 and the bottom panel 113 so that the opening of the pocket 114 will be located at a position spaced from the edges of the top panel 109 and the bottom panel 113, whereby, in a fully inserted state, the funnel portion 116′ is still exposed (FIG. 5C) and may be easily grabbed between two fingers.

In addition, the leather tray storage 100 may have a leather edge to permit the tray to slide in and out and may operate as a funnel. The side of the tray can also store items such as rolling papers, rolling filter tips, and a grinder card with tools therein (See FIG. 8) with magnet tools. The tray may be made small so that it may fit inside of a pocket of a person's jacket or pants, for example.

Referring to FIG. 6A, there is illustrated a top perspective view of the cigarette holder 200. The cigarette holder 200 has a cigarette holder compartment 201 with an opening 202 for a cigarette or a vape pen (not illustrated) and a foldable end 204 in the form of a flap having a tapered portion 206, with a foldable end 204 that folds and is received in a front compartment 205 to enclose and secure a cigarette or vape pen (not illustrated). Magnets or a magnetic body (e.g. a piece of steel) 203 may embedded under the exterior cover of the back of the cigarette holder 200 (FIG. 6B) to magnetically couple with a magnetic body integrated with the cover 9, specifically the spine 11 of the cover 9. The cigarette holder compartment 200 may be constructed with a stainless steel tube wrapped in French calfskin leather and lined with a polyurethane/satin lining.

Referring to FIGS. 7A-7J, there is illustrated a top perspective view of the removable box 300 in an open state showing the interior thereof. The removable box 300 includes a spine portion 301 connected, with a living hinge 303, to a first side tray 305 along one side thereof, and connected, with another living hinge 303, to a second side tray 306. The first side tray 305 includes a base panel 307, an endless, exterior wall 308 having a first height, and an endless interior wall 309 having a second height projecting above the top edge of the exterior, endless wall 308. The first side tray 305 has two compartments 302 defined by a wall or divider 304 that extends from one side of the interior, endless wall 309 to an opposite side of the interior, endless wall 309. The second side tray 306 includes a base panel 310 with an endless wall 311. In a closes state, the portion of the interior, endless wall 309 that projects beyond the exterior, endless wall 308 is preferably fully received inside of the space defined by the endless wall 311 to permit the edges of the endless walls 308 and 311 to make contact.

Referring to FIG. 7J, magnetic bodies 312 may be integrated with the base panel 310 of the side tray 306 to magnetically couple to integrated magnetic bodies 350 of the cover 9 (FIG. 3B). The box 300 may also include a strap 313 attached to the exterior of the base panel 307, which is received in a retention sleeve 314 attached to the exterior of the base panel 310 to further secure the box 300 in the closed state.

On the back of the grinder card are various tools. See FIG. 8.

The word panel as used herein could be a single layer body or a body formed with multiple layers that are integrated together by any suitable means such as glue or stitching. In the preferred embodiment, each panel or spine could be formed with an interior (lining) layer, a middle layer, and an exterior layer integrated with stitching, for example. A panel could be formed with leather exterior layer, a rigid middle layer (e.g. a sheet of plastic), and an interior layer that has a smooth sliding texture and is capable of withstanding harsh corrosive chemicals such as nicotine oil, human saliva, and household cleaners. The interior layer could be, for example, made of a polyurethane/satin lining material.

The present invention uses magnets that are specifically designed to have a pull strength that is not too strong but not be too weak.

Additionally, the present invention preferably uses a lining that will sustain heat without melting, but will be bendable and will provide a smooth surface to which tobacco oil will not stick. The surface of the lining has preferably a smooth sliding texture and is capable of withstanding harsh corrosive chemicals such as nicotine oil, human saliva, and household cleaners.

Insofar as the description above and the accompanying drawing disclose any additional subject matter that is not within the scope of the single claim below, the inventions are not dedicated to the public and the right to the one or more applications to claim such additional inventions is reserved.

Although exemplary claims are presented herein, it should be recognized the scope of this invention is much broader than presented by the present claims. It is intended that broader claims will be submitted in an application that claims the benefit of priority from this application.

Of course the present invention is not intended to be restricted to any particular form or arrangement, or any specific embodiment, or any specific use, disclosed herein, since the same may be modified in various particulars or relations without departing from the spirit or scope of the claimed invention hereinabove shown and described of which the apparatus or method shown is intended only for illustration and disclosure of an operative embodiment and not to show all of the various forms or modifications in which this invention might be embodied or operated.

Although the present invention has been described in relation to particular embodiments thereof, many other variations and modifications and other uses will become apparent to those skilled in the art. It is preferred, therefore, that the present invention be limited not by the specific disclosure herein, but only by the appended claims.

Claims

1. An organizer comprising: a cover having a spine, a first panel connected to an edge of the spine, a second panel connected to another edge of the spine; andat least one removable storage detachably attachable to an interior surface of the cover.

2. The organizer of claim 1, wherein the least one removable storage is a leather tray.

3. The organizer of claim 2, wherein the leather tray includes a foldable funnel.

4. The organizer of claim 2, wherein the leather tray includes an insertable and extractable funnel.

5. The organizer of claim 4, wherein the funnel is insertable into and extractable from a pocket defined in the leather tray.

6. The organizer of claim 2, wherein the leather tray includes at least one integrated magnetic body that is magnetically attachable to a magnetic body integrated with the cover.

7. The organizer of claim 1, wherein the least one removable storage is a removable box.

8. The organizer of claim 7, wherein the removable box includes a spine, a first panel connected movably to an edge of the spine and a second panel connected movably to another edge of the spine, whereby the box may be converted from a closed state to an open state, and from an open state to a closed state.

9. The organizer of claim 7, wherein the removable box includes at least one integrated magnetic body that is magnetically attachable to a magnetic body integrated with the cover.

10. The organizer of claim 1, wherein the at least one removable storage is a cigarette holder.

11. The organizer of claim 10, wherein the cigarette holder includes at least one integrated magnetic body that is magnetically attachable to a magnetic body integrated with the cover.

12. An organizer, comprising: a cover having a spine, a first panel movably connected to an edge of the spine with a living hinge, a second panel movably connected to another edge of the spine with a living hinge;a first removable storage detachably attachable to an interior surface of the spine;a second removable storage detachably attachable to an interior surface of the first panel; anda third removable storage detachably attachable to an interior surface of the second panel.

13. The organizer of claim 12, wherein the first removable storage is a cigarette holder, the second removable storage is a leather tray, and the third removable storage is a box.

14. The organizer of claim 13, wherein each removable storage includes at least one integrated magnetic body that can magnetically couple to an integrated magnetic body integrated with the cover.

15. The organizer of claim 13, wherein the leather tray further includes a funnel.

16. The organizer of claim 13, wherein the funnel is foldable into an extended state or a folded state.

17. The organizer of claim 13, wherein the funnel can be inserted into and extracted from a pocket defined in the leather tray.

18. The organizer of claim 12, wherein the first removable storage faces a side of the second removable storage, and a side of the third removable storage, while the second removable storage and the third removable storage face one another when the cover is in a closed state.
