Claims
- 1. A method of forming a composite paperboard container comprising the steps of:providing a substantially planar sheet of paperboard material; forming said planar sheet of paperboard material into a container configuration; providing a first embossed sheet of paperboard material having a plurality of raised portions; adhering said raised portions of said first embossed sheet of paperboard material to said container configuration formed by said planar sheet of paperboard material; providing a second embossed sheet of paperboard material having a plurality of raised portions; and adhering said raised portions of said second embossed sheet of paperboard material to said first embossed sheet of paperboard material to form a container shell; wherein said planar sheet of paperboard material, said first embossed sheet of paperboard material and said second embossed sheet of paperboard material are formed about a forming mandrel.
- 2. The method as defined in claim 1, wherein said first and second embossed sheets of paperboard material are adhered to one another before said first sheet of paperboard material is adhered to said planar sheet of paperboard material.
- 3. The method as defined in claim 1, wherein each sheet of paperboard material is of a basis weight in a range of 20 to 80 lbs/3000 sq. ft. ream.
- 4. The method as defined in claim 3, wherein each sheet of paperboard material is of a basis weight in a range of 30 to 50 lbs/3000 sq. ft. ream.
- 5. A method of forming a composite paperboard container comprising the steps of:providing a substantially planar sheet of paperboard material; forming said planar sheet of paperboard material into a container configuration; providing a first embossed sheet of paperboard material having a plurality of raised portions; adhering said raised portions of said first embossed sheet of paperboard material to said container configuration formed by said planar sheet of paperboard material; providing a second embossed sheet of paperboard material having a plurality of raised portions; and adhering said raised portions of said second embossed sheet of paperboard material to said first embossed sheet of paperboard material to form a container shell; and securing a container bottom to said container shell.
- 6. The method as defined in claim 5, wherein each sheet of paperboard material is of a basis weight in a range of 20 to 80 lbs/3000 sq. ft. ream.
- 7. The method as defined in claim 6, wherein each sheet of paperboard material is of a basis weight in a range of 30 to 50 lbs/3000 sq. ft. ream.
- 8. The method as defined in claim 5, wherein the step of forming said container configuration includes forming said planar sheet of paperboard material and said first and second embossed sheets of paperboard material about a forming mandrel.
- 9. The method as defined in claim 8, further comprising the step of removing said container shell from said forming mandrel.
- 10. The method as defined in claim 5, wherein the step of forming said container configuration includes forming said planar sheet of paperboard material and said first and second sheets of embossed paperboard material in a forming die.
- 11. A method of forming a composite paperboard container having enhanced multi-directional rigidity comprising the steps of:providing a substantially planar sheet of paperboard material; forming said planar sheet of paperboard material into a container configuration; providing at least one embossed sheet of paperboard material having a plurality of randomly spaced raised portions; adhering substantially all of said plurality of randomly spaced raised portions of said embossed sheet of paperboard material to said container configuration formed by said planar sheet of paperboard material forming the composite paperboard container having enhanced multi-directional rigidity; and securing a container bottom to said composite paperboard container.
- 12. The method as defined in claim 11, wherein the step of forming said container configuration includes forming said planar sheet of paperboard material and said embossed sheet of paperboard material about a forming mandrel.
- 13. The method as defined in claim 11, wherein the step of forming said container configuration includes forming said planar sheet of paperboard material and said embossed sheet of paperboard material in a forming die.
- 14. A method of forming a composite paperboard container having enhanced multi-directional rigidity comprising the steps of:providing a substantially planar sheet of paperboard material; forming said planar sheet of paperboard material into a container configuration; providing at least one embossed sheet of paperboard material having a plurality of randomly spaced raised portions; and adhering substantially all of said plurality of randomly spaced raised portions of said embossed sheet of paperboard material to said container configuration formed by said planar sheet of paperboard material forming the composite paperboard container having enhanced multi-directional rigidity; wherein said planar sheet of paperboard material, said first embossed sheet of paperboard material and said second embossed sheet of paperboard material are formed about a forming mandrel.
- 15. The method as defined in claim 14, further comprising the step of removing said container shell from said forming mandrel.
- 16. The method as defined in claim 14, wherein each sheet of paperboard material is of a basis weight in a range of 20 to 80 lbs/3000 sq. ft. ream.
- 17. The method as defined in claim 16, wherein each sheet of paperboard material is of a basis weight in a range of 30 to 50 lbs/3000 sq. ft. ream.
