Claims
- 1. A camera comprising:

- a judging device which judges, based on a photometry result recorded by said recording device, at least whether operation of said preliminary illuminating device should be permitted;
- wherein said control device controls operation of said illuminating device based on a judgement result of said judging device, after said release full-push switch is operated, and then controls operation of said main flashing device.
- 2. A camera according to claim 1, wherein said judging device judges whether operation of said main flashing device should be permitted based on said photometry result, and when it is judged by the judging device that the operation of said main flashing device should be permitted, said judging device further judges whether operation of said preliminary illuminating device should be permitted.
- 3. A camera according to claim 2, wherein when it is judged by said judging device that operation of said main flashing device should not be permitted, said judging device does not judge whether operation of said preliminary illuminating device should be permitted.
- 4. A camera according to claim 1, wherein a distance measuring operation is also started when said release half-push switch is operated.
- 5. A camera according to claim 4, wherein said recording device records a result of said distance measuring operation first, and then records a result of said photometry operation.
- 6. A camera according to claim 1, wherein said preliminary illuminating device emits illuminating light for reducing a red-eye effect.
- 7. A camera comprising:
- a release half-push switch, a photometry operation being started when the release half-push switch is operated;
- a release full-push switch, an exposure of a film being performed when the release full-push switch is operated;
- an illuminating device which reduces a red-eye effect;
- a flashing device for flash photographing;
- a control device which controls operation of said illuminating device and said flashing device;
- a recording device which records a photometry result of said photometry operation; and
- a judging device which judges, based on a photometry result recorded by said recording device, at least whether an operation of said illuminating device is necessary;
- wherein said control device controls operation of said illuminating device based on a judgement result of said judging device, after said release full-push switch is operated, and then controls operation of said flashing device.
- 8. A camera system comprising:
- a release half-push switch, a photometry operation being started when the release half-push switch is operated;
- a release full-push switch, an exposure onto a film being performed when the release full-push switch is operated;
- an illuminating device which reduces a red-eye effect;
- a flashing device for flash photographing;
- an outputting circuit which outputs a start signal which starts operation of said illuminating device and said flashing device;
- a memory which memorizes a photometry result of said photometry operation; and
- a judging device which judges, based on a photometry result memorized by said memory, at least whether operation of said illuminating device is necessary;
- wherein said outputting circuit outputs a start signal based on a photometry result memorized by said memory, after said release full-push switch is operated.
- 9. A method of controlling a camera having a half-push switch, a full-push switch, a preliminary illuminating device, and a main flashing device, said method comprising the steps of:
- executing photometry on an object in response to operation of said half-push switch;
- recording the result of the photometry;
- judging, based on the recorded result of the photometry, at least whether operation of said preliminary illuminating device should be permitted, before operation of said main flashing device;
- operating said preliminary illuminating device in response to operation of said full-push switch when it is judged that operation of said preliminary illuminating device should be permitted; and
- exposing a film and operating said main flashing device in response to operation of said full-push switch.
- 10. A method of controlling a camera having a half-push switch and a full-push switch, comprising the steps of:
- outputting a photometry start signal in response to operation of said half-push switch for starting to execute photometry on an object;
- recording a result of the photometry;
- judging, based on the recorded result of the photometry, whether illuminating for reducing red-eye effect should be permitted;
- when it is judged that the illuminating for reducing the red-eye effect should be permitted, illuminating for reducing the red-eye effect in response to operation of said full-push switch; and
- outputting an exposure start signal in response to operation of said full-push switch for starting to expose a film.
- 11. A method of controlling a camera having a half-push switch and a full-push switch, comprising the steps of:
- outputting a photometry start signal in response to operation of said half-push switch for starting to execute photometry on an object;
- recording a result of the photometry;
- judging, based on the recorded photometry result of the photometry, whether illuminating for reducing red-eye effect is needed;
- when it is judged that the illuminating for reducing the red-eye effect is needed, illuminating for reducing the red-eye effect in response to operation of said full-push switch; and
- outputting an exposure start signal in response to operation of said full-push switch for starting to expose a film.
- 12. A method of controlling a camera having a half-push switch and a full-push switch, comprising the steps of:
- outputting a photometry start signal in response to operation of said half-push switch for starting to execute photometry on an object;
- recording a result of the photometry;
- judging, based on the recorded photometry result of the photometry, whether to output a trigger signal for starting an illumination for reducing a red-eye effect;
- when it is judged to output said trigger signal, outputting said trigger signal in response to operation of said full-push switch; and
- outputting an exposure start signal in response to operation of said full-push switch for starting to expose a film.
