Claims
- 1. A camera comprising:
- a flash device which emits illumination light to illuminate an object;
- an illumination device which emits illumination light prior to the emission of said flash device;
- a flash control device, electrically connected to said flash device, which judges whether said flash device should be operated or not, in accordance with a first factor for judgement; and
- an illumination control device, electrically connected to said illumination device, which judges whether said illumination device should be operated or not, in accordance with a second factor for judgement which is different from said first factor for judgement.
- 2. A camera according to claim 1, wherein said illumination device emits to an eye of said object light which reduces a pupil aperture thereof, thereby to reduce a red-eye effect.
- 3. A camera according to claim 1, wherein the first factor includes at least information relating to object luminance, and the second factor includes information relating to distance to the object as well as the information relating to the object luminance.
- 4. A camera according to claim 1, wherein the first and the second factors include luminance levels of the object, said luminance levels being different from each other.
- 5. A camera according to claim 1, wherein said flash control device judges whether said flash device should be operated or not, prior to the judging of said illumination control device whether said illumination device should be operated or not, and if said flash control device judges that said flash device should not be operated, said illumination control device does not judge whether said illumination device should be operated or not.
- 6. A camera comprising:
- a flash device which emits illumination light to illuminate an object;
- a red-eye effect reducing illumination device which emits illumination light to reduce a pupil aperture of an eye of the object;
- a flash control device, electrically connected to said flash device, which judges whether a condition necessary to operate said flash device is established or not based on a first determination factor; and
- an illumination control device, electrically connected to said illumination device, which judges whether a condition necessary to operate said illumination device is established or not based on a second determination factor which is different from said first determination factor.
- 7. A camera comprising:
- flash means for emitting illumination light to illuminate an object;
- pre-illumination means for emitting pre-illumination light prior to the emission of said illumination light;
- flash control means for judging whether said flash means should be operated, in accordance with a first judgement factor; and
- pre-illumination control means for judging whether said pre-illumination means should be operated, in accordance with a second judgement factor which is different from said first judgement factor.
- 8. A camera comprising:
- flash means for emitting illumination light to illuminate an object;
- red-eye effect reducing illumination means for emitting illumination light to reduce a pupil aperture of an eye of the object;
- flash control means for judging whether a condition necessary to operate said flash means is established based on a first determination factor; and
- illumination control means for judging whether a condition necessary to operate said illumination means is established based on a second determination factor which is different from said first determination factor.
- 9. A method of operating a camera having a flash device operable to emit illumination light to illuminate an object and having an illumination device operable to emit illumination light prior to the emission of said flash device, said method comprising:
- judging whether said flash device should be operated, in accordance with a first factor for judgement; and
- judging whether said illumination device should be operated, in accordance with a second factor for judgement which is different from said first factor for judgement.
- 10. A method of operating a camera having a flash device operable to emit illumination light to illuminate an object, and having a red-eye effect reducing illumination device operable to emit illumination light to reduce a pupil aperture of an eye of the object, said method comprising:
- judging whether a condition necessary to operate said flash device is established, based on a first determination factor; and
- judging whether a condition necessary to operate said illumination device is established, based on a second determination factor which is different from said first determination factor.
