Claims
- 1. An illumination apparatus comprising:
- a main flash device including a discharge tube;
- a pre-illumination device which pre-illuminates prior to a main emission of said main flash device;
- a detector, electrically connected to said main flash device, which detects information relating to a position of said discharge tube with respect to a photographing optical axis; and
- a control device, electrically connected to said detector, which controls an operation of said pre-illumination device based on the information relating to the position of said discharge tube, detected by said detector.
- 2. An illumination apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said detector includes an input device which inputs a signal corresponding to the information relating to the position of said discharge tube.
- 3. An illumination apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said pre-illumination device reduces a red-eye effect by emitting light to an eye which reduces a pupil aperture thereof.
- 4. An illumination apparatus according to claim 3, further comprising a judging device which judges whether a photographing condition where a red-eye effect is caused, is established or not, based on the information relating to the position of said discharge tube, detected by said detector.
- 5. An illumination apparatus comprising:
- a main flash device which can be set at least at a first position or a second position from which a distance to a photographing optical axis is different from that of the first position;
- a pre-illumination device which pre-illuminates prior to a main emission of said main flash device;
- a detector, electrically connected to said main flash device, which detects whether said main flash device is set at the first position or the second position; and
- a control device, electrically connected to said detector, which controls an operation of said pre-illumination device based on the position of said main flash device, detected by said detector.
