Claims
- 1. In a control system for an internal combustion engine having an intake passage, an exhaust passage, a fuel tank, a canister for adsorbing evaporative fuel generated from said fuel tank, a purging passage connecting said canister and said intake passage for allowing said evaporative fuel to be purged therethrough into said intake passage, and an exhaust gas recirculation passage connecting said exhaust passage and said intake passage for recirculation of exhaust gases, said control system including a purge control valve arranged in said purging passage for controlling a flow rate of said evaporative fuel purged through said purging passage into said intake passage, operating condition-detecting means for detecting operating conditions of said engine, purging flow rate-controlling means for controlling said purge control valve depending on said operating conditions of said engine detected by said operating condition-detecting means, an exhaust gas recirculation control valve arranged in said exhaust gas recirculation passage, and exhaust gas recirculation control means for controlling said exhaust gas recirculation valve based on an amount of exhaust gas recirculation determined depending on said operating conditions of said engine detected by said operating condition-detecting means,
- the improvement comprising purging flow rate-correcting means for correcting said flow rate of said evaporative fuel purged, depending on said amount of exhaust gas recirculation.
