Claims
- 1. A copolymer consisting of .alpha.-methylstyrene and styrene as the sole monomers produced by copolymerization of, by weight, from about 90 parts to about 50 parts .alpha.-methylstyrene and from about 50 parts to about 10 parts styrene at a temperature range from about 15.degree. C. to about 45.degree. C. and in the presence of a Friedel-Crafts catalyst, said copolymer having a softening point (ring and ball) of under 100.degree. C.
- 2. A copolymer according to claim 1 which has a softening point (ring and ball) of between about 70.degree. C. and about 85.degree. C.
- 3. A copolymer according to claim 1 in which copolymerization takes place at a temperature in the range of about 23.degree. C. to about 33.degree. C.
- 4. A copolymer consisting of .alpha.-methylstyrene and styrene as the sole monomers produced by copolymerization of, by weight, from about 75 parts to about 70 parts .alpha.-methylstyrene and from about 25 parts to about 30 parts styrene at a temperature range from about 15.degree. C. to about 45.degree. C. and in the presence of a Friedel-Crafts catalyst, said copolymer having a softening point (ring and ball) of under 100.degree. C.
- 5. A copolymer according to claim 4 which has a softening point (ring and ball) of between about 70.degree. C. and about 85.degree. C.
- 6. A copolymer according to claim 4 in which copolymerization takes place at a temperature in the range of about 23.degree. C. to about 33.degree. C.
