The field of application of the present invention is comprised in the sector of the industry dedicated to the manufacture of makeup accessories, focusing particularly on the field of containers, and more particularly on powder compact-type containers.
Makeup containers in the form of a powder compact, i.e., formed by a type of normally round case, although square cases are also available, are widely known, said containers comprising a base with an upper housing for the product and a hinged lid covering the upper part of the base, often having enough space for housing an applicator sponge between said upper part of the base and the lid.
This format is typically used for makeup in solid form, i.e., in powder form, hence its name “powder compact”. However, recently, it is also the format used for a new type of makeup known in the sector as “cushion”, which consists of a fluid makeup base which is applied with a porous sponge, such that instead of makeup powders, the fluid product is incorporated in the housing of the base of the case forming the powder compact, and instead of being made from a fabric to spread the powders, the sponge is a porous sponge which, when pressed on the product, is impregnated with the product for subsequent application on the face.
The problem is that since the product is a fluid, and therefore wet product, if the sponge is kept such that it is housed directly on the product, the sponge will be impregnated with the product continuously while not in use and will be too saturated when it is to be used again, so the excess product will have to be removed before application.
This entails a drawback, particularly if the makeup is used outside the home, which is precisely one of the advantages of this type of container for this new type of makeup, given that the product can easily spill out, dirtying hands and clothing or other accessories, in addition to causing significant waste of product that is moreover not too much in terms of content and not usually cheap in terms of price.
To prevent this problem, some containers have an additional compartment for keeping the sponge while it is not in use. However, said compartment usually consists of a second case with a smaller dimension fitted in the inner space existing between the upper part of the base and the lid for housing the sponge in said space, whereby, in order to use the product, this second case must first be removed, putting it aside, and the sponge is extracted therefrom in order to use the product.
Although this solution is able to fulfill the objective of the sponge not being impregnated with the product while it is not in use, it is not an optimal solution because it involves the need to be able to put this second case on a surface while using the sponge, which is not always possible, for example, if the product is being used in a vehicle, in an elevator, or while standing anywhere, possibilities that are not at all unreasonable. In fact, products of this type are quite commonly used for quick touchups at certain times before a certain activity or an interview, and this is why this type of makeup is such as success.
Therefore, the object of the present invention is to provide the market with an alternative solution that is more practical and allows, in addition to keeping the sponge separated from the product while it is not in use, an easy and quick access thereto, allowing the container to be used anywhere by simply holding it with one hand.
Moreover, and in reference to the current state of the art, it should be indicated that the applicant at least does not know of the existence of any other makeup accessory having technical, structural, and constitutive features that are identical or similar to those of the accessory herein claimed.
As expressed in the title of the present specification, the invention relates to a makeup accessory which provides to the function for which it is intended advantages and features which will be described in detail below and which constitute an improvement in the current state of the art.
More specifically, the object of the invention focuses on a makeup accessory consisting of a makeup container in the form of a “powder compact”-type case where makeup is applied with a sponge, with the particularity that said container has a compartment for the sponge which allows keeping it completely independent from the product when it is not in use, preventing contact with the product, and at the same time allowing easy access and use, as the compartment is a sliding drawer-like extractable compartment which is attached to the container in an open usage position.
The makeup accessory proposed by the invention allows optimally solving the described problems and satisfactorily achieving the objectives indicated above, with the characterizing details making this possible and suitably distinguishing it from what is already known being suitably included in the claims attached to the present description
More specifically, as mentioned above the accessory proposed by the invention consists of a makeup container in the form of a “powder compact”-type case which, applicable particularly for fluid makeup which is applied with a porous sponge, such as the compact referred to as “cushion”, is characterized by having an independent compartment for keeping the sponge when it is not in use, such that the sponge is not in contact with the product, and at the same time allowing easy sponge access and usage, as the compartment is an extractable compartment which is attached to the container in an open usage position for extracting the sponge and using it with the product.
To that end and more specifically, said container which is conventionally configured from a case with a round or square layout, comprising a lower base, with an upper sinkage defining a housing for incorporating the product, and a hinged lid which covers the upper part of said base and incorporates on the inner face a mirror, is distinguished by having, at the mentioned lower base, an extractable compartment, providing an inner space suitable for housing the sponge, which compartment is concealed and completely housed inside the base itself of the case in a closed position, protecting the sponge, and placed against the base, to which it is still attached, and with its surface being exposed and accessible to allow extracting and putting in the sponge in an open position.
Preferably, this extractable compartment is configured like a sliding drawer which protrudes from the front portion of the base in which an opening is envisaged for such purpose in order to place said compartment in an open position.
Furthermore, to facilitate the operation of extracting the compartment for the sponge, the compartment has on its front edge a finger notch which is preferably located in coincidence with the closure of the lid of the case.
In any event, the compartment has in the upper part thereof a sinkage which defines a housing for fitting the sponge and furthermore preferably has one or two side recesses to facilitate the extraction thereof.
To complement the description that is being made and for the purpose of helping to better understand the features of the invention, a set of drawings is attached to the present specification as an integral part thereof, in which the following has been depicted in an illustrative and non-limiting manner:
In view of the mentioned drawings and according to the numbering used, there can be observed a non-limiting embodiment of the makeup accessory of the invention, which consists of a container comprising the parts and elements indicated and described in detail below.
In that sense, as seen in said drawings said container is a powder compact-type case (1) with a round or square layout which conventionally comprises a lower base (2), with an upper sinkage (3) defining a housing for incorporating the product, and an upper lid (4) which is preferably attached to the base (2) through an articulated attachment (5) to make it pivotable, which upper lid covers the upper part of said base (2) in a closed position and preferably incorporates a mirror (6) on its inner face.
Furthermore, based on said already known configuration, the case (1) is distinguished by having, at the lower base (2), an extractable compartment (7) for housing a sponge (not depicted) and keeping it away from contact with the product when it is not in use, which compartment (7) is concealed and completely housed inside the base (2) itself in a closed position, and placed against the base (2), still being attached thereto, and with its upper surface being exposed and accessible to allow extracting and putting in the sponge in an open position, as seen in
Preferably, the extractable compartment (7) is a sliding part with a layout identical or similar to the layout of the base (2), penetrating the latter through a front opening (8) thereof, said part having a stop (not shown) which prevents the extraction thereof through this front opening (8) beyond a certain point in the open position, and with a front partition (9) closing the side opening (8) of the base (2) in its closed position.
Furthermore, the sliding part constituting the compartment (7) for the sponge preferably has on its front edge a finger notch (10) to facilitate the extraction thereof, which finger notch is located in coincidence with the closure (11) of the upper lid (4) of the case (1) in the preferred embodiment, such that a part of said closure (11) is in the lid (4) and the complementary part is in the compartment (7).
In any event, the compartment (7) for the sponge preferably has another upper sinkage (3) which defines a housing for locating the sponge such that it is fitted therein without rising above the front opening (8) of the base (2) through which the compartment (7) penetrates when it is closed, and which furthermore preferably has one or two side recesses (12) with respect to said upper sinkage (3) to facilitate the extraction thereof.
Having sufficiently described the nature of the present invention, as well as the manner of putting it into practice, it is not considered necessary to expand on this explanation so that one skilled in the art will understand its scope and the advantages derived from it, hereby stating that within its essential nature, the invention may be carried out to practice in other embodiments which differ in detail from that indicated by way of example and which will likewise attain the protection that is sought provided that its fundamental principle is not altered, changed, or modified.
